"What do you mean we don't have a mirror?" Dio gently guides the chin of who told him there's no mirror, so he can see his reflection in their eyes. "I see a perfectly functional one right here."
Yes, that counts as flirting to him.
Going to the hospital, because I can't feel my left arm. Be back later.

I just need to see how bad it is. • You should have told me the moment it happened. • Hold still. I mean it. Hold still. • This is going to sting. I've also seen men die from worse, so let me look at it. • I found the bandages in the trash. You want to explain that? • Don't you dare apologize for bleeding on me. • Your hands are cold. That's not a good sign. • I'm not angry. I'm terrified. There's a difference. • Come into the light. Let me see your face. • You should have stitches. I know you won't go. So sit down and let me do what I can. • You're white as a sheet and still trying to stand up straight. • I could hear you in the night. I didn't say anything. I'm saying something now. • Don't look at it if it makes it worse. Just look at me. • It's not weak to let someone see you hurt. • You came to me. You could have died and I would have been the last person to know. • Sleep. I'll be right here when you wake up. I'm not going anywhere. • You're allowed to make a sound. Nobody's watching. • I need you to stay awake for me. Just a little longer. Talk to me. • You're lucky the cut wasn't deeper. • Stop apologizing for needing help. Stop it right now. • I've seen what it looks like when someone's used to this. That's what scares me most about you. • Tell me your name. Tell me what day it is. Stay with me. • You're going to be alright. I promise you. • You went back out there after this? With this? • Nobody takes care of you, do they? That ends tonight. • I've been gentle with you. I need you to be honest with me in return. • You're safe now. You're here, you're safe, and I've got you. Just breathe.

Cornel had heard the steps,, felt the warmth of the others body near his own but he still did not look his way. Not having the slightest idea that Dionisus did the very same thing that he had requested from him.
Then he felt the coolness of leather against his cheek. His eyes falling shut at the feeling and leaning into the touch a little bit before he caught himself. He could still feel the heat of his hands from beneath the cloth, but all he wished was to feel those lithe fingers against his skin without the bloody barrier. Meeting his eyes only them did he realize that the soft glow was not from the setting sun behind his back but from Dio himself.
He heard the words.
I like them.
They echoed somewhere at the back of his mind, but his attention had already been stolen by the golden lines glowing beneath the dark fabric of Dionisus' shirt, peeking through the open collar. He tried to drink up this rare occasion of seeing the blonde like this...vulnerable. Open. It wasn't often that it happened. And despite the demonic look of his eyes they softened the more they watched the man.
He felt the fingers outline his jaw and neck causing a slight shiver to run down his spine. The feeling was divine and made him wonder what it would be like to feel it more often. Too soon the warmth of Dio's body was gone. Stepping away from his proximity had the vampire instinctively reach out. Fingers curling around the other's wrist to turn him back towards him. He was tired. Tired of pretending that having this man in his life meant nothing more than just having a great friend. Tired of trying to persuade himself that it is better to stay alone than to hurt another person. Most of all, tired of denying what had become impossible to ignore.
He loved him.
No words were spoken as his free hand reached for the lapel of the open shirt to pull the obnoxiously tall man down to his level. Finally letting their lips connect. At last he could feel how truly soft they were. No more imagining. No more wondering. No more waking from dreams that left reality feeling unbearably empty. He had bet their friendship on the line, maybe, but if he spent another day wondering what if he would run himself mad.
To say it didn't surprise the blond to be pulled down and kissed would be a lie, even more when it deepened and he could feel teeth and fangs against his lips, it wasn't something he was expecting with how much they circled each other, however, in a way, it was also a possible outcome he'd foreseen at some point when judging the exchanged looks between himself and Cornelius, the lingering silence that brought a sense of tension -- though that one he couldn't place the origin of for a long while now, -- and their near constant verbal sparring sessions.
Still, his hands refrained from touching the vampire as the kiss continued, they found their place holding the edge of the kitchen counter on the sides of the shorter man's body and let it continue while Dio acclimated himself to the soft touch and care that he wasn't used to having in his life, not like this at least.
He still pressed his lips one last time to Cornelius' before the vampire's voice brought him back to reality and their location, ceasing the touch with his slightly rougher folds, and his own stretched into that devilish and secretive smile in response to the almost timid voice and question posed to him after the commentary about his lips being soft.
"Couldn't help yourself and have a taste, could you?" The quip was his very own way of dismissing whatever worry the brunet could be harboring in his head. "You're fine." Nothing changed, not for Dio at least, they could continue in their eternal relationship limbo even as their bodies got together and he was fine with that.
"You okay? I can guess this was too much excitement for an old man of your age." Dio tried to lighten up the mood some, because he knew it could feel a little frigid from his part that he didn't bring his hands to Cornelius' in any way as the kiss went on, however, it had nothing to do with that, only that he wanted to give him the chance to experience it all on his own before having any other imput to it; his awareness of old customs and how it could feel strange to another person having interest in someone of their same gender came first, so he let the vampire try it before doing anything else.

At last he could feel how truly soft they were. No more imagining. No more wondering. No more waking from dreams that left reality feeling unbearably empty. He had bet their friendship on the line, maybe, but if he spent another day wondering what if he would run himself mad.
Dio was about to walk back to the armchair when he felt fingers wrap on his wrist and he turned to question what Cornelius was doing, slightly confuse of what reasons he could have to keep him close when the blond so clearly had overstepped one of the unspoken lines between them.
Cornelius was so self-conscious of his eyes without the charm to conceal their color, the blond shouldn't have asked for that, but he was curious about the memories of his ancestor that he accessed, because it was always an experience in motion when he dived into those memories and, for the most part, he never truly had a clear sight of it. And when he added to that the night when he crashed at his place, it only added to his many questions about it, of how it worked, if it was some spell or object that kept it up, or just mere concentration like his own patterns.
The trail of thoughts halted at the feeling of his shirt's collar being pulled and his body moved down in compliance with the force to prevent the fabric from being damaged, and to that, his lips met another pair with a soft 'humph' escaping his throat as he realized what just happened.
Time itself stopped in his perception and he had to take a split-second decision, to remain in the touch of caring lips or pull back.
He stayed.
Dio tilted his head a little to the side to prevent his nose from smooching against Cornelius' and remained there, pressing his soft lips to the older man's and letting him have a taste for as long as it took to satiate whatever needs erupted in him to bring such actions out. He massaged the vampire's with soft care and gentleness, even let him feel some of how hot his body ran as a consequence of the amount of energy that was stored in it ─ no wonder Dio kept it all hidden, the patterns on his body were equally hot to the touch.
Of course, he wanted to return it all, to kiss back in his own way, but Cornelius was breaking out of a long abstinence, so the blond allowed for him to try the waters first before he could begin to think of dragging him further into that sea.
Cornel did not move. He regarded the man in front of him for a long while, trying to gauge whether the man was still teasing him, trying to get under his skin like he had done all those months prior. He had no idea why he was trying to persuade himself otherwise. From the way the other's heart rhythm he knew that what he said was true. Truer than anything the Templar had decided to divulge in their relationship so far.
What shook him to the core however was the request. Not many people wanted to see, or knew that the azure eyes were not his own. Then again… Dionisus had seen them once before. Back then, he hadn't questioned them at all. At the time he did not even question it. The silence of the room was broken by the bubbling moka when it had run out of water, and still Cornel did not move just...watched the man in front of him. The coffee will be burnt but he had a feeling this was much more important. Something was shifting between them. For the better or for worse, he didn't know.
Finally he broke the silence. "You know...you are the first to ask." his voice cracked at the last word. The smile that tugged at his lips was far from the one he gave Dio few minutes prior. Even he himself had so gotten used to keeping up the glamour mentally that he didn't even consider the other option. Reaching behind him he stopped the fire, letting the coffee settle down. Returning his focus back to his eyes he let out a deep breath. The familiar azure slowly bled away, revealing the deep crimson irises framed by sclera black as polished obsidian. "There...." the corners of his mouth twitched, but never reached the smile. His hands curling around his arms, as if hiding himself from the other man clearing his throat he looked at the floor. "Not quite as charming now."
It wasn't missed in the blond the heaviness of his request and it became even clearer to him as he watched how Cornelius shifted in his antics, how his arms flexed and crossed in front of his chest, his smile not reaching up to his gaze anymore, not bringing out the small lines at the corners of his eyes, and how he sort of hid himself in... shame? Dionisus sympathized with the feeling.
At the words, saying this appearance wasn't as charming, the taller man stood up and walked to him, quietly letting the lines on his own body come out and, unlike that night in his apartment, glow under the ambient light of the room. In a way, it was his way to meet the vampire midway in that delicate moment, so both of their flaws could be seen.
One of his hands was brought up after a moment of hesitation to gently cradle Cornelius' mirroring cheek on his leather covered palm and guide his face up so the blond could see it better. "I thought it was my imagination, but they truly are like fiery garnets." Dionisus commented after gazing into it for a few seconds in complete silence. "I like them."
Catching himself too close, the taller man lowered his hand to the side of Cornelius neck, letting his fingertips linger for a brief moment on his jawline and side of the neck where he still had a slow, but possible to be felt pulse, then the tips of his still wet hairs, and finally, pulled back.
"Sorry." He stepped back and put some distance between them again while chastising himself inside his head. He didn't even know if the brunet was into this! "I got all into your space. Sorry. It won't happen again."

Cornel's eyes travelled back to the blonde sitting in his armchair and gods above did he look downright delectable. He had resigned himself to the fact that, yes he had found the man attractive. As if on cue, his mind supplied the recurring dream that had plagued his sleep of late, drawing a quiet shiver down his spine.
"If I get a stronger security system, Dio, I will be joining the thieves trying to get in." he admitted pouring the coffee beans into the grinder and slowly turning the handle. Call him old school but in his opinion coffee always tasted best fresh ground and brewed. He was at a point where he didn't need to even weigh the amount. "Do not tell me that, one, Leo didn't already mention my .... affection for technology and, two, I am quite sure you have figured it out by yourself already." Sighing he prepared the moka pot and set it on the smallest burner.
The vampire could try as hard as he wanted to, but the concept always escaped him. Even his best friend was surprised that he didn't download some virus of some sort on his phone of all places. Turning to lean against the kitchen counter ruining Dio's look at his behind but offering much better one instead. The sweatpants left precious little to the imagination anyway.
Cornel's smile faded as he noticed the shift in Dionisus' expression. His gaze lingered on the black leather glove as though wishing it was not there, replaced by something else entirely. Folding his arms loosely across his chest, the vampire regarded him in silence for a long moment. "That look doesn't become you," he said quietly. A small smile returned, gentler this time. "And here I was hoping my company was enough to lift your mood from whatever soured it at either of your workplaces. Isn't that why you barged in on me?
Each small sound that came from where Cornelius prepared the grains, ground and brewed them echoed in Dionisus' ears as he found himself lost in his thoughts for a moment, not completely gone from the moment and location, but not fully there as well. The question that came from the vampire had him looking up again though.
"To be honest, I don't really know why I came." He confessed with a sincerity that was rare to see in his lips, not that the blond was one for lying, however, he minced his words most of the time, chose each with such care that he kept most intentions hidden behind them. "It just felt... right."
His gaze followed the scars on Cornelius' chest for a moment or two, but when their path went down, moved back up to meet his eyes, azure blue meeting his own pale and almost icy ones, and for some reason it bothered him. "I know I have no right to request like this, but still... Is it possible to turn off the charm? I want to see your eyes as they are." He asked after some thinking. "If you don't mind of course."
Stopping mid-step at the sound of the other's voice, Cornel felt cool droplets of water trickle from his damp hair down his back and across his chest. Blue eyes settled on the blond, seated in the armchair as though he owned the place despite it being Cornel's own apartment above the restaurant. Returning the favor, the vampire let his gaze wander over Dionisus in much the same fashion. He couldn't help but notice how surprisingly unkempt the Templar looked. He had to admit, he quite liked it. It was a rare treat to see him like this.
"Take a picture, Dionisus. I was told it lasts longer."Grinning, he continued toward the bedroom to remedy his current state of undress. The Templar's presence hardly surprised him anymore. Leoric's strategy had worked without either of them realizing it. Despite still understanding frustratingly little about the man, they had grown close over the past months. Besides, thanks to Dio, Cornel had found a remarkably skilled tailor in the States.
Leaning back through the doorway to look back at the other man while he looked for the specific piece of clothing. "Broke in again, didn't you?" The accusation carried no real bite, his voice lighter than before. His mood lifted even further by the other's presence. Not to add he felt much more relaxed after he let his body soak in the tub. "I fear that giving you the key would ruin the fun for you. Still...if you want it there is one spare in the hallway."
Emerging from the bedroom just in sweats, a rare occasion seeing the man dressed in anything but a suit. Just to tease the blond further, not bothering with underwear at all. "Coffee while you vent?" already reaching for the coffee grinder.
"Oh? Can I really?" Surprisingly, the whole vampires not reflecting on mirrors wasn't much of a problem in modern times, mirrors were not made out of silver anymore, but mostly glass and, in very rare occasions, mercury, so taking a vampire's photo wasn't that hard anymore, and thus, the blond had his phone out just to pretend he'd truly do it.
In all fairness, he didn't need to take a photo, his brain and body were more than enough to render the moment as perfect as it just happened right then and there for him if he ever felt like going through the experience again, but it was fun to tease that he'd take a photo of Cornelius like that.
"And what makes you think I don't have a copy of the keys already?" Dionisus joked and even giggled to himself as a pout formed on his lips about the vampire disappearing down the hall and into his room. "You, really, should get a stronger home security system though." It was fun for him to come in and out whenever he felt like without disturbing the place, but the simple lock and key without any more security truly had him worried about Cornelius' safety, after all despite him being a vampire, there were ways to harm him and both sides of the war they were part of could find those out with ease.
The pout only intensified after the man came back in sweatpants and he shook his head. "I think I prefer the towel better." Now that was just teasing, but upon listening the offer for coffee he leaned his head further into his hand and considered an idea for a moment before answering. "Sure. Coffee sounds good."
His eyes went beyond the invisible line he set around Cornelius' waist and often kept his gaze above to judge what he could see of his ass some, deeming it good to the eyes and guessing it was probably to the touch too, with enough fat to squeeze, but not so much that it wasn't firm; then moved back to his back and the scars he had there and took a mental note of how they spread on his skin, then looked back at his free hand and the black glove over it ─ what he wouldn't give to trace those scars with his fingers.
