It looked like how the First Sentinel remembered second of make, yet they mentioned...parents? In a way, the Architects who created each of the five could be considered the "parents" of the sentinels, though they never referred to them as such. Not from what the First Sentinel could remember that is.]

"How many guesses do I get?" Eribel asked, curious. Once they knew the number, they would decide on whether they would need the hint or not. There were plenty of white things in the Citadel after all, and while they could probably spend a fair amount of time guessing they were fairly sure they wouldn't have infinite chances.

"It does not matter to me if you are better with the guitar because I am better with the harpsichord," they answered, reaching out to boop their sibling affectionately. Granted, being able to play a keyboard-like instrument was different than plucking silken strings, but everyone had their own strengths and weaknesses.

"We can play one of them on the way if you let me come with you," Eribel replied. "Have you ever heard of I Spy?" It was a game they played with their little sibling Choralis, and the one with the most points at the end would get a sweet or small toy from the other. Usually they played for candy, though Eribel liked being able to surprise their sibling with the latter.
This s-sentinel did not have m-m-much time for games before. Only its or-or-orders and task of protecting the holy C-Citadel.
But yes, heard of "I-I-I Spy," this sentinel has. P-p-pilgrims, usually children, pl-played such a game as it escorted th-them to the holy Citadel long a-ago.
Shall you b-begin, or shall it?
"You can start and if I manage to guess what the object is then I will go next?" Eribel offered, a small smile on their face as they spoke. They were curious about whether they would be able to get it right or not, but perhaps they would figure it out eventually.
They weren't a sore loser either, so the points didn't matter.

[It cast its gaze upwards and around, searching something that would not be obvious. There was a number of things it could name, from details about the room to the few pilgrims singing in a few rooms.]
[The automaton was silent for several moments, examining its surroundings as the two travelled through the Choral Chambers to the Cogwork Core, since that was where it was told the Twelfth Architect would be.]

Eribel let out a thoughtful little hum, glancing around at their surroundings. Many of the pilgrims here wore white, so that was the immediate thought that they had. "The pilgrims' robes?" they offered up as a suggestion, tilting their head slightly.
Admittedly, it had been a very long time since they had been to the Citadel in itself, but being a cogwork construct their memory was somewhat better than more organic bugs so they were able to recall most of its internal structure with ease.

Eribel took their hands out from behind their back to reveal several woven bracelets as well as a stuffed mossgrub that was large enough to either be cuddled or used as a pillow depending on Trinn's preference. "The bracelets are from Choralis, the mossgrub is from me," they admitted. "I was originally going to make the mossgrub the same size as the massive ones from around the grotto, but it wouldn't fit in cold storage if I had. It's got a few cold packs inside of it in case you're in danger of overheating and can be refrigerated if it loses its chill."

It takes the mossgrub gingerly, hugging it to its chest with care.
This will save its life, therefore: invaluable gift-tool, you have given this Sentinel. The bracelets, this one also appreciates. Pretty, they are, and it shall have to wear them when not working-serving.

At the revelation that Trinn had gotten them something in return, Eribel blinked in surprise only to light up when their sibling returned with the guitar. They accepted it carefully, looking it over before looking back at Trinn with a bright smile.
"Thank you so much, I love it."

This Sentinel selected a Silk-strung instrument specifically for the teaching of a skill-tool.
Silk Resonance requires a chord to be struck upon Silk. After which, it may begin a chain-reaction with nearby strands - vibration "shakes loose" the memories-information in the Soul of the Silk.
Silk, akin to a sponge of information when there are nearby living-thinking beings.

Eribel brightened, glancing at the guitar in a new light. "It would be interesting to be able to cast spells with silk," they mused thoughtfully. "I haven't really dabbled in it much considering the... history my parents have with the Citadel. I've always just used soul to empower my weapons."
They couldn't heal themself with soul, of course, not like a higher being could, but they were able to channel it to a degree courtesy of the process that had given them life to begin with.
"Even if it turns out that I can't use it that way, I always love learning about new instruments."

"Perhaps you could tell me about your life at the hive if you're comfortable?" Eribel suggested as they very carefully opened the door, antennae perking up in curiosity. They wouldn't push if their guest wasn't comfortable, of course, and would be happy to change the subject if necessary.
They set down the cookies and tea in front of Hornet so that she could help herself to as much as she desired. If they happened to run out of either cookies or tea, well, Eribel could always leave to get some more. Hornet was a friend and a most welcome guest, after all.
"I'm happy to share more about myself as well, if that helps," the cogwork bug added.

How long had it been since she had spoken of the hive? Hornet couldn't remember. She didn't mind speaking on it but it was a little hard to know where to start.
She closed her eyes in contemplation. "I spent much of my youth there being trained by the hive's queen. Her name was Vespa and she was a close friend and confidant to my mother."
Her mother. The recent dive into her memories to retrieve the Everbloom had almost reopened that wound. It had been centuries since Herrah had gone to sleep to fulfill her duty as a Dreamer, but much less since she had finally been laid to rest. It had been so difficult to stand idly by, but she knew that she had made the right decision.
Recalling the pride and kindness with which her mother had treated her had been an unexpected gift.
"They were a structured and disciplined people always working for the benefit of the whole. Which is not to say they eschewed individuality outright, but they worked perfectly in tandem. I could not say I made many friends, exactly, as most of my time was spent training but I was friendly with many. It was bright, lively, golden and the honey they made there became one of my favorite treats."
It had also been warm. So, so warm. The brightness of the place was a bit much for a spider brought up in darkness, but she had always been fond of cuddling with the other bees in training. They were all so fluffy and comfortable to curl up amongst.
"What of you, Eribel? What was your youth like?"
Eribel remained quiet as Hornet spoke of the hive queen, of the people. They had never lived in a hive before but it sounded quite nice. They were aware that fluffy bugs existed, of course, but had never quite had the opportunity to touch one; the last thing they wished was to come off as rude or inconsiderate.
"I suppose it was as normal as an automaton being raised as a child could be," Eribel began after Hornet inquired as to what their childhood had been like. "I didn't have many friends either, probably due to other bugs not wishing their little ones to make friends with a machine." Even if said machine acted the same as any other youngling and could feel hurt at the idea of such things, but they digressed.
"My parents wanted me to have as much of a normal childhood as possible, so I didn't take up my first weapon until I reached my adolescent frame and began training in an official capacity. Unfortunately, it was also at that point that the Citadel began pressuring my parents to create more of my kind, not to raise the way I had been, but for... other purposes."
They didn't elaborate, but they didn't need to; Hornet was more than capable of figuring out the implications considering her intelligence.
"So my family took everything that they had on my construction and we came here. It took some doing to find a spot to construct a home where the Citadel wouldn't be able to reach us. I continued my training as well, wanting to be able to protect my family as well as anyone else the Citadel might try to take advantage of. And even if I can't change the minds of the traveling pilgrims, I can at least get them to their next destination safely."

"And most stalls offer free samples, so it'll give you an opportunity to try out different flavors and decide what you like," Carill added with a wink. "What do you say?"
That plan is acceptable, Parental-Units. Does it require anything to go?

"Trial and error can sometimes be how one learns best," Carill hummed. "Especially when it comes to cooking!" Trebello piped up. "Everyone starts somewhere, kiddo. Mistakes are a part of learning. When you go visit your friend, don't beat yourself up if you make something that doesn't taste good. Learning is a process."
"And be careful of fires and oil spills," Carill added. "You can't put out a fire caused by an oil spill with water, you have to smother it."
It nods, and then takes their hands to drag them to a musician it spotted on the corner.

Trebello and Carill followed along behind Trinn, Trebello already beginning to hum along to the tune that was being played.
