respect cc’s boundaries always. don’t try to find loopholes. don’t try to post boundary breaking material where you think they won’t see. just stop breaking boundaries. a fictional ship is never more important than real people’s feelings ❤️
Ok, my kid cried for a big chunk of the day Pyro made his demand. Why? Because she has a fan novel in progress that included a romance that was endorsed the DAY BEFORE, and now she was told to abandon it. It's the most ambitious creative writing she's ever undertaken, and a creator believes he can tell her to throw it away.
When creators say, "Real people with feelings," they only mean other creators. Fans are not real people, and they don't have feelings.
Honestly, my kid's feelings seem more reasonable than Pyro and Maddie's. The reasonable thing to do in Maddie's case is to find a therapist, or for both of them to quit content creation. It is not to try to dictate the actions of hundreds of fans that they don't actually have any authority over in the first place.
This creator boundaries model being pushed is just exploitation. I would like someone in this creator sphere to take a few minutes to consider their fans as people. We're apparently just engagement numbers. You show no curiosity about what we actually create in our spaces.
fuck tumblr bro
if people don't want their characters who are:
byproducts of themselves
being played by the content creator (unlike a character from a novel or videogame that is completely detached from a real person)
to be romantically shipped, then that is a reasonable request. This fandom likes to imagine that every cc is completely detached from their characters.
When you are acting that character, a little part of you goes into it. Especially when YOU specifically designed that character. If you find that it makes your skin crawl to have someone else randomly on the internet shipping what you might consider as a part of yourself with someone who you're friends with, then its your right to tell them to stop.
I get being bummed or upset. I get feeling like you have to attatch to something new or start somewhere else. That's fine. If you created work that means that much to you, then just rename the characters and remodel your work to OCs. I promise you, the internet is not a void hole where you work floats in the ether and no consequences stem from it.
Respect the people behind the work.
I'll clarify that it's completely reasonable for creators to expect that everything on their official tags and in all their spaces to abide by their boundaries - on pain of being banned. That's what I thought creator boundaries were before now, and apparently a lot of other people do too.
That's explicitly not what Pyroscythe and Milkberry are demanding. They are demanding that all shipping content stop everywhere, including abandoning WIPs - on pain of harassment.
They don't have the authority to demand that, and it's overall a dick move. And yes I'm extra mad because it disrespected my kid. There's no justification for telling a teenager to throw out a novel she's been working on for months, months during which her content was endorsed by the creator of the character involved. None.
Also, as many have said, if Milkberry's mental health is threatened by knowing stuff is out there at all, this demand won't even fix that. The two things I mentioned above are not me being dismissive. They're literally the options that could help the problem. This is just causing a lot of useless hurt.
everytime dungeon meshi focuses on characters outside of the touden party you can really feel the looming horror of the dungeon,, only the touden party is having a silly fun time by virtue of eating the horrors

@ yves-and-scessernee: with faith and perseverance, one day we will sauté the horrors"

do you live in seattle (the american city)?
yes
no
please reblog to get this poll out of my bubble, i want reach
so ive been meaning to do this poll for a while because my hypothesis is that seattle is the most Tumblr city, likely in the entire world. tumblr has a huge american majority userbase obviously, but just for comparison going forward, only 0.22% of the american population lives in seattle. as of this reblog, this poll is showing 4% of respondents are seattleites. given, this isnt scientific at all, because my blog just has a lot of seattle connections and seattle followers, but it's still an impressive bias
Well now I'm curious
Do you live in Portland, OR? (the american city)
Yes
No
do you even live in u.s. America?
yes
no
do you even live on any American continent?
yes
no

I feel like a horse with no name is probably the best song in the world. Not even my Favorite song just the best
He’s literally just telling it like it is

Every morning, the queen asked her magic mirror to show her the most beautiful person in the world.
The mirror replied "To whom?"
"The miller who made the flour for my bread," the queen would say, or "Whoever spun the thread my shawl was made of".
The mirror would show her, and she'd be amazed.
The first time, she says "To me," and the mirror dutifully shows her her reflection. And she is pleased.
The second time, she says "To the King," and she is pleased to see herself once more.
The third time, she says "To the Royal Advisor," and is once more satisfied to see herself.
The fourth time, she says "To the scribe who takes the King's letters." She is shown the man's wife. And she seethes, but quiets herself, for it is only right that a man loves his wife.
The fifth time, she says "To the Court Wizard," and is shown the man's departed mother as he remembers her from his youth, radiant and smiling and warm and larger than life.
The tenth time, she says "To the Stable Master," and is shown the fastest horse in the stable, majestic and free as the wind even in captivity
"To the baker," she is shown the man's daughter, young and adorable and full of joy and laughter.
"To the artist who did my portrait," she is shown a painting of a woman done by the man's teacher, who he still looks up to now that he is well established himself.
"To the Royal Knight," she is surprised but not displeased to see the castle's entire guard force in the middle of doing drills.
The one hundredth time she asks the mirror, and it asks her "to whom?" she once again says, "To me." And she does the same the one hundred and second, and again and again and again.
It is a different person each time, and they are all beautiful.
Where's that tweet about how American chants are "let's go [team name] and some other country (Irish?) fans are "I've made up a song about the other team's drinking problem to the tune of London Bridge Is Falling Down one two three"?
