Es bastante común escuchar a la gente discutiendo lo que podría suceder si un escritor se enamorara de ti. O tú de él. Pero… ¿Qué pasaría si dos escritores se enamoraran?

Puedo decir con certeza que les sobrarían las palabras, y guardarían en secreto las restantes. Grabarían en sus huesos los sentimientos, las metaemociones, lo que sienten al sentir. Al sentir tanto. Al sentir lo que sólo un escritor puede sentir. Trazarían en su piel las sílabas con la lengua. Se embriagarían con su saliva. Construirían un diccionario en el que leerían sus nombres una y otra vez. Leerían sus sonrisas, leerían sus caricias. Aprenderían a leer en braille las pecas de sus hombros, las de su nariz.

Cada beso les robaría el aliento y una bocanada de tinta inundaría sus pulmones. Con el tiempo les saldrían branquias. Aprenderían a nadar, a disfrutar el agua tibia. Sus dedos dibujarían puntos en la espalda baja. Sus labios plantarían fonemas. Germinarían juntos. Él las uvas y ella la vid.

Harían el amor con las vocales. Tendrían un orgasmo al ritmo de las consonantes. Retumbarían las letras en sus oídos. Martillando sus tímpanos, acariciando sus poros. Se mirarían fijamente a los ojos mientras descifran cómo plasmar el momento en que sus miradas se cruzaron por primera vez. Abrirían su tórax, como un cirujano. Excavarían entre sus costillas e implantarían sus versos debajo de ellas.

Su apartamento estaría repleto de plumas, de papel. Hojas subrayadas por aquí y por allá. Sabrían que se matarían en sus poemas. Se hundirían como barcos contracorriente. Se necesita ser valiente para enamorarse de alguien tan roto como un escritor. Se romperían el corazón. Un escritor funciona mejor cuando el vacío lo ahoga. Llenarían su tráquea de humo al fumar un cigarrillo tras otro. Tras otro. Tras otro. Llenarían su tráquea de humo hasta que el viento acariciara sus mejillas y fuera dejando un caminito de comas bajo sus pestañas.

Si dos escritores se enamoraran, se llenarían de prosa. De metáforas. De cesuras.
