goeun sat crosslegged on the hardwood floor, leaning against the huge mirror taking up the entire wall, ignoring the cool of the glass seeping through the back of her shirt. she had borrowed their manager’s laptop, ostensibly for the purpose of feeling out the public’s reaction to dandelion so far (their upcoming ice cream commercial was just announced, to some mixed receiption). she kept getting distracted by articles about other groups in the sidebar and clicking them without thinking, pouring over the comments and trying to keep track of what netizens liked and what they hated. she absentmindedly bit at her cuticles, surely chipping away at the fancy manicure she’d just gotten for the cf filming and earning herself a scolding as soon as it was noticed.

she was waiting for chorong to come by for the two of them to practice choreo for their debut. really, goeun had asked for this extra practice session to quell her own worries - she was one of the weaker dancers in dandelion, and while chorong was a fellow non-dancer, goeun felt more comfortable asking her only unnie in the group for help. even after all these years of training and of working herself to the bone to chase a fleeting sense of security in this profession, goeun still had a touch too much pride - at least enough that she didn’t like having to ask for help, especially as a leader. but chorong didn’t judge, and goeun felt somewhat safe to embarrass herself with silly mistakes behind the protection of their one year age gap.

the door clicked open and goeun looked up, smiling automatically when a familiar face appeared. “hi, unnie. would you like some coffee?” she picked up a paper cup, jiggled it slightly to feel how full it was. “it might be a bit cold now, sorry. i picked it up earlier.”
