appearance
Godric's features are striking, bold, and deliberate, much like the laws he upholds. A strong jawline and defined cheekbones frame a face that is both regal and unyielding, his presence commanding without the need for excess. Godric has the eyes of a man who sees more than he speaks, and are constantly weighing the balance between justice and necessity. His hair is thick, dark, and immaculately kept, often brushed back to reveal a broad forehead, though a few errant strands sometimes escape when he is deep in thought or weary from long nights spent poring over legal texts. His skin is sun-warmed, a natural bronze that speaks of Valtolia’s golden summers, though the cool detachment in his expression often makes him seem untouchable. Tall, with a broad-shouldered frame with an imposing figure, he does not rely on physical intimidation but rather is secured in his station and authority. His cadence, even in the heat of an argument, remains pedantic and unbothered. Godric's noble lineage did not afford him much when compared to the apparel of other houses, now with the elevation of his house and station he's generally dressed impeccably in his family colours, with accents of an evening black threaded with subtle threads of crimson and silver.
persona
A man of order, precision, and unyielding ambition - a noble whose mind is as sharp as the laws he wields. Every decision he makes is deliberate, every word he speaks measured. He is a strategist before all else, a man who understands that power is not taken with brute force alone but with patience, knowledge, and the ability to outmaneuver one's enemies before they even realize they have lost. Godric is cultured and refined, possessing a deep appreciation for history, philosophy, and the laws that shape civilizations. He believes that knowledge is the foundation of power and that true strength lies in mastering both the sword and the pen - though, if given a choice, he would always prefer the latter. His mind is a library of case law, precedent, and political history, and he uses this knowledge as both a weapon and a shield. His speech is measured, eloquent, and authoritative, never wasting words where a glance or a pause might serve just as well. He is a master of rhetoric, capable of twisting an argument in his favor or dismantling an opponent’s logic with chilling precision. Debate is his battlefield, and he does not enter a fight he has not already planned to win. He believes in law, but he also believes that laws are tools meant to be wielded by those who understand them best. A weak ruler clings to the letter of the law, but a strong one knows when to rewrite it. There is fire beneath his exterior - an unyielding will, a deep hunger for legacy, and a mind that refuses to be bested. He is not cruel, but he is not soft. He is not unjust, but he is not merciful. He is not a tyrant, but he will not be defied.
sexual
Godric enjoys control in all aspects of his life, and the bedroom is no exception. While he is considered a top, he is versatile, though not out of submission - rather, he sees adaptability as another tool in his arsenal. He is deliberate, knowing when to take control and when to allow someone else the illusion of it. For him, sex is a means of influence, a way to cement alliances, to test loyalties, or to see how much someone will yield to him. He does not allow himself to be ruled by desire, but he does understand its power over others - and he is more than willing to exploit it. He is not cold in intimacy, nor is he indifferent - but everything he does is calculated. He can be passionate when it suits him, intense when he chooses, and even tender if he finds it to his advantage. But sentimentality is a weakness, and he does not let himself indulge in emotions that might cloud his judgment. Love is a rare and distant concept to him. He respects power, intelligence, and ambition - if someone proves themselves to be his equal (or at least close to it), they might earn his attention. But devotion? Affection? That is a different matter. He values usefulness over sentiment. If a relationship - be it a marriage, a dalliance, or a quiet arrangement - cannot serve a greater purpose, it holds no weight to him. A lover who brings him status, alliances, or influence is far more valuable than one who simply offers affection.
folklore
"A House rises not on virtue alone, but on the strength of the hands that build it." Sigil: A black serpent coiled around a silver laurel branch on a deep red field. Motto: "What We Take, We Keep." Seat: Lauryl Hall, a once-faded estate in the western heart of Valtolia, has regained much of its former grandeur under Godric’s rule. House Colors: Crimson, Silver, and Black Once, House Lanar stood among the foremost noble houses of Valtolia - respected, powerful, and trusted in matters of law and governance. Their lineage boasted generations of sharp-minded justiciars, magistrates, and lawmakers. But one act of dishonor can stain a name for generations, and Godric’s grandfather ensured their fall from grace. Lord Theobald Lanar, Godric’s grandfather, brought ruin upon the house. Whispers say it was embezzlement, but Godric has endeavoured to snuff out any rumours relating to the scandal, obscuring the truth over the course of a decade. What is known is that his disgrace cost House Lanar its place in the King’s favor, stripped them of key holdings, and left them shunned by the greater houses. His father, Lord Alric Lanar, was weak-willed and uninspired, unwilling or unable to do more than cling to what little prestige they had left. House Lanar became a name spoken with pity at best and contempt at worst. Then came Godric. At twenty, he inherited the title with nothing but a tarnished name in the midst of a Great War. With a crumbling estate, and the weight of a legacy barely worth saving - while his father had wasted years hoping for favors that would never come, Godric had already begun plotting, scheming, and working toward reclaiming his house’s honor. For eleven years, the war provided opportunity. He became a ruthless strategist, a man who fought his battles not with a sword, but with ink, law, and negotiation. While others died in the mud, he brokered deals, secured trade, maneuvered alliances, and positioned House Lanar as indispensable. Now, after fourteen years of relentless effort, House Lanar rises once more. Godric sits on the Small Council as the Master of Laws, wielding power in a way his forebears could only dream of. Lauryl Hall is no longer a rotting husk - it has been rebuilt, stone by stone in some cases as a testament to his victories. Godric has rebuilt the foundation - but his work is not finished, for an ambitious man from nothing can only aim higher.
