more than anything i want a world where a trans girl realizing she is a trans girl faces zero fear from that realization and subsequent coming out. Where she can say "Oh sweet, I can just be a girl? Sign me up!", no worrying if shes girl enough, no worrying if society will accept her, no worrying if she'll be an attractive girl as she transitions, no worrying at all in any way shape or form.
Okay it's been over a year now, and I still think it's VERY odd that the Deltarune fandom is still nearly unanimous in claming that Kris is rebelling against player choices to be mean to Ralsei, when we have only one solitary example of that, and that's yawning to change "Of course not" into "Of course (when asked if a Darkner should be feeling this way, ie., having their own wants and dislikes)
Meanwhile, "Good. Keep smiling," they will say with their whole chest. And, given chapter 5, probably is more fitting, as it reflects the same kind of front they're trying to put up, to act unbothered while trying to give Susie one more good adventure
Like, I won't deny that they elect to hug Ralsei on their own when choosing "It's okay not to smile." I think that BOTH of these dialogue choices are them letting their mask of indifference slip, just in different, and very "Kris" kind of ways
Additionally, Ralsei's entire arc in ch5 shows that she has very strong feelings about why she'd be afraid to try and be more "herself", she clearly thinks that something catastrophic could happen. So it recontextualizes all of those seemingly straightforwardly "Nice™" options to tell Ralsei to be herself and it's nice that Ralsei is Ralsei, and should leave you questioning how she would really be taking them. I'm not saying "be mean to Ralsei it's good for her!" but rather, maybe there's a reason why it would occur to Kris not to be so encouraging, especially given everything THEY'RE denying about themself and keeping from their friends

Why are 'you' [OP's father] stigmatizing 'your' [OP's father] child's body!
At the beginning of the post, OP is venting at and lecturing 'you' [trans women], but by the end OP is all caps yelling at 'you' [OP's father].
We can see that her father is the actual source of her current anger and frustration, but OP takes that anger and vents it at trans women and fems instead of her father who it should be rightfully directed at.
When we talk about trans women being "girls you can hit" or "whipping girls", its not just about physical violence directed at us, its also about the way people like OP will use us as sin-eaters and scapegoats for the actions of others. OP is having a problem with her father, but instead of dealing with that problem in a healthy way she instead decides that the best thing to do is offload her anger onto trans women as a collective class that she feels an unjustified sense of superiority over.

I think what gets me with the whole "positionality of independent artist/artisan" discourse is the fact that it's soooo stupidly simple unless you view class as income based or want to needlessly moralize as to position yourself as pure.
I'm an independent artisan, I am petty bourgeois because I have petty bourgeois class interests and have small amounts of capital--even if it's just in my personal checking account. It does not matter that I make the same amount I'd make working retail full time.
Capital is not the same thing as wealth or money more generally. Capital is money used to gain more money. When I buy a hide and hardware, I am utilizing my money as capital so that I can transform those materials into a final product that I sell for more than those materials cost me. Thus, it is in my interest to be able to get those materials for as cheaply as I can, which is to say, it is in my interest for the companies that I buy from to buy their necessary labor as cheaply as possible. There is a distinct possibility that I make less than the workers who raise the cows, tan the leather, and work in the warehouse, but they are still working class--someone else extracts surplus value from their labor--whereas I am not.
I sometimes vend at a local sex shop. If there were to be a struggle between the workers and the owners, it would be in my direct material interest to side against the workers in order to maintain my relationship with the shop. Whatever personal choice I make in the matter is irrelevant. Whether I act against my own interests or not, I still occupy a position that puts my interests in opposition to the workers' interests.

there’s this term i coined in my friendgroup i call “the charizard effect” and it can apply to anything and everything, but it was born from me explaining my feelings about the pokemon charizard. the term is basically about how overexposure to something be it by corporate shilling or fandom prominence drives me away from really enjoying something bc i’m exposed to it so much against my will i become tired of it. it came to me bc i was ranting about how tpci does not, and cannot stop reinventing charizard, and how it is popular and obtusely included in almost every region, merch, etc in every way possible and it’s highly commodified.
i dont dislike the pokemon charizard, in fact i really like its X form, but i am exposed to so much charizard in my pokemon consumption that i cant be bothered to care for it in any more than in passing. this applies to a bunch of other stuff i’d otherwise be ok with, but i always just call this aversion phenomena “the charizard effect”
making this term has done numbers for me being able to concisely express how i feel abt something. like. its not charizard’s fault i feel this way, im sure i’d feel normal abt it if it was stripped of all this over commodification, but i cannot. hence the name
