The Sapphire Shores celebrate the usual holidays from the Dragon’s Calendar but are best known for five major holidays: The Star Festival, the Day of Truth, the Day of Creation, the Day of Remembrance, and the Flag Festival. Many from other territories come to witness these events because of how brilliant they truly are within the Aster Isles.

To celebrate that which causes the sea’s waves, the Star Festival celebrates the Lazuli Cosmos and the Pearl Moon. Many people enjoy this holiday as a moon-viewing event. They set up picnics where they can or choose to eat at the pier as they watch the sun go down. On this day, the Sapphire Pillars glow even more brilliantly and there never seems to be a cloud in the sky. All other lights in the town are then put out for a while so that numerous stars are shining brilliantly on the people below. Many of the church believe that this day brings the Material Plane closer to the cosmic planes and the Lazuli Cosmos shares the thanks of all those in attendance to the many gods.

Three days of celebration are very important to the Sapphire Shores as the True Voices lead them. First, on the Day of Truth, families are encouraged to spend time with their loved ones, and with candles for the Illustrious and the Unknown, the story of Drastrea’s birth is read. This is done to ensure that the tale never is forgotten. Then, on the Day of Creation, gifts are given to one another and in the evening, floating lanterns are sent into the sky to symbolize the gemstone dragons taking their place in the Cosmic Planes they now call home. Finally, the Day of Remembrance is a massive celebration where the whole town enjoys a festival granted by King and Queen Astoria. This is done to celebrate the Hero’s victory and the banishment of the Deceiver.

Finally, the Flag Festival is one to celebrate the Sapphire Sea. Ships of all kinds can be seen flying flags of vibrant hues. The pier is a hub for games and food for those on land, while the ships participate in different competitions depending on size and purpose. Because airships have become more popular, many agree that their participation is very much welcome. On this day, you seem to find a flag everywhere you look!

These five festivals bring immense joy to the citizens and visitors of the Sapphire Shores. Though, the fine people of the Aster Isles will never turn away another celebration and always seem to welcome more and more holidays, festivals, and celebrations whenever possible.

Located in Sapphire Shores is a bustling marketplace filled with many different shops to peruse. These shops include Ben’s Wondrous Candy Emporium, The Curious Constellation, and Spectral Spells.

Ben’s Wonderous Candy Emporium is known for its amazing confections but is also known to many adventurers as the best place to get potions. Benjamin, the Wondrous, was granted many awards for his inventions which could make potions into hard drops for easy transport. He is also known for creating potions that children actually enjoyed taking through this form that could cure or prevent many different illnesses and diseases. When entering his shop, you see beautiful glass cabinets holding many different potion drops, self-serving areas with candies safe for anyone to enjoy, and a massive cauldron and device that seems to filter potions into the shape of drops.

The Curious Constellation is known for its high fashion and amazing custom clothing to accommodate any and all who wish to look their finest. The owner, a black tabaxi named Cassandra, specializes in working with shiftweave and glamourweave. These two fabrics can be combined to make amazing outfits that have been seen on Queen Astoria herself. Upon entering, you’ll see many outfits stitched through magical means with love by Cassandra. You may also see one being made in the window using an invisible servant. Cassandra herself puts much care and love into each interaction with her customers as she knows how hard it can be to find an outfit that makes you truly feel like yourself.

Spectral Spells is a wizard’s dream. With walls lined with books and scrolls, it can be overwhelming. The mysterious owner, a black tabaxi dressed in oversized wizard garb, does not give their name often (though their sister at the Curious Constellation might let it slip) and is known for their secrecy and discretion. Rumor has it, that if the owner sees something in you or puts full trust in you… They’ll offer things from their personal trove of spells and books, but this is very uncommon.

Though each shop within the marketplace is quite different, they all protect each other through their connection with the infamous Red Lady. She is a figurehead that manages and monitors everything within the Ruby Marketplace and has done so since its creation. The current Red Lady, Jeanne LeBlanc was appointed after making the largest tavern in the Sapphire Shores and winning the title in a gamble. All whispers go back to the Red Lady and she is known as the ultimate source of information… though Jeanne is the first of three Red Ladies to have such a web of information available. There is respect and understanding towards her by all who work within the marketplace and those who may wish her harm, may find many eyes watching them.

The Red Lady Tavern is home to Jeanne and a wonderful place to stay if one has never been to the Sapphire Shores. The remains of a massive ship were utilized in its construction making it appear as though the ship’s bow is piercing up through the ground up to the middle of the ship, while the other half was used to make the many rooms and structures inside. The food available is the finest they can offer at an amazing price that any could afford thanks to the many thankful individuals within the Ruby Marketplace offering some of their finest produce and meats. Its rooms offer beds for any sized party with varying prices that make things affordable, but those who can’t afford a single room can stay in a hostel-sized area for a very cheap price and offer something of value for a meal (if not coin, information or work will suffice.) This tavern has become a central point within the city and many will protect this place as if it were their own home.

A massive capital city of Ayr. It lies on the edge of the continent and is known as the largest seaport in Ayr. They are responsible for most of the trade that is done by sea and monitors the goods coming through very closely. The homes are well structured and appear to be kept up to par. The biggest points of interest are the Pearl Chateau, the Sapphire Pillars, the Ruby Marketplace, and the Temple of the True Creators.

The Pearl Chateau is a glittering castle that is home to the Astoria royal family. They oversee everything in the Aster Isles and have done so since the Era of the Hero. The castle relies on magical stones that project the star-filled night on the ceiling in the massive throne room and ballroom for guests to witness and hosts flags of sapphire and pearlescent hues to show their loyalty to the dragons of the sea and moon. The Pearl Chateau was also created as a symbol of thanks to the Pearl Moon (god of the moon) and the Cosmic Lazuli (god of the stars) in hopes that they could see it from their home in the cosmic plane.

The Sapphire Pillars are massive stones that jut out from the ocean and are said to have been pieces of the Sapphire Sea’s (god of the ocean) wings when the Hero that banished the Deceiver found them. They seem to absorb the sun’s light and glow brilliantly in the evening which acts as lighthouses for those out at sea. It’s also believed that these pillars keep any and all evil at bay which is why offerings to the Sapphire Sea are important.

One feature of the Sapphire Shores that is relatively new in comparison to the Chateau and Pillars is the Ruby Marketplace. The Diamond Peaks, massive mountains that separate the Sapphire Shores from the nearby forest and the rest of Ayr was found to have brilliant glittering rubies. The druids of the Emerald Forest declared that they were a gift from the Agate Land (god of the soil) and with the approval of many different experts and clergy summoned by Queen Astoria, they began to mine. One stepped forward and offered a way to make more money while paying respect to the land. She was known as the Red Lady and suggested that a way through the mountains could be made that would showcase the brilliant massive rubies and any stones that came from that would be used to build a fantastic marketplace. The city agreed and it was built with the help of master artisans from the territory of Onyra. three Red Ladies have come to watch over as promised. The current Red Lady, Jeanne LeBlanc, is a retired sailor who used her old worn ship to craft the Red Lady Tavern on the outskirts of the Ruby Marketplace.

Finally, the Temple of the True Creators was built in the era of the Hero and is where many of the faith travel to see. The True Creators are known to Drastrea as the Illustrious Opal and the Unknown Bismuth (All that is known and that which has yet to be discovered). The temple features stained glass windows portraying the story of the True Creators and the Deceiver in the hall where services by the True Voices of the Creators grant their teachings to many clerics and paladins of the faith. In the center is one large window that shows a silhouette believed to be the Hero in the middle of banishing the Deceiver from the Material Plane. The building itself is protected by heavy magic… and legend has it that the legendary staff the hero used is locked deep within its catacombs.

Hi everyone! I think it’s time to introduce myself since the last time I was posting on this site was around 2017 (so it’s been about 5 years!)

My name is Hina and I’m a GM over on Twitch.tv/GMHina! I run two different campaigns using Monster of the Week and DnD5e and play in a DnD campaign run by my partner there!

I’ve also learned a lot about myself over the past few years and have found that I am non-binary (My pronouns are They/She, but I’m happy as long as masculine titles and pronouns are avoided!)

I was able to make a lot of friends on Twitter, but with everything that’s happening over there, one of my goals is to expand my social media reach as best as I can! I’m hoping to make friends here too!

I love tabletop, drawing, and playing video games! I also used to sell at Artist Alleys, but I haven’t felt comfortable enough to return yet with Covid being a thing!

Hello there! It’s been a long while since I’ve been on Tumblr! I hope you all are doing well! My brand has gone through some big changes and so I’m going to be cleaning out a bunch of stuff here to reflect what my passions are currently! If you followed me for art, please know that there will be art posted from time to time, but I have found a passion in tabletop streaming and I can’t wait to share that with you too!
