happy disability pride month! i was professionally diagnosed with lvl 2 autism only this year <3 took me a little while to adjust to this new way of seeing myself and the world - but i have come to see my mind and body as beautiful. i love my gifts and special interests, i love how when i'm doing something i enjoy or listening to music the sensations in my body are technicolor! (thought this was how everyone felt.. turns out when i bop around and laugh from excitement that's stimming!) i am so proud of myself for how far i've come in life despite my obstacles, and it is such a relief to be at a point where i know there's no shame in asking for help and knowing my limits. i won't let others tell me i'm "faking it" just because i'm high-functioning, or i don't "look" disabled just because i know how to mask - i must demand support! my capacity for a lot of things has gone down, but my enjoyment for life has gone up. <3 i see u disabled girlies - (& u don't need a professional diagnosis to be validated, you know yourself better than anyone!)
