Ana Mendieta
Artist. Cuban-American. 1948-1985
"...an interdisciplinary artist, referring to herself as a sculptor. She is best known for her earth/body works, most specifically her now iconic Silueta Series, in which she used her body, and later the absence of the body, in the landscape as a way of connecting with nature and the universe."
Works from Silueta:
veterinarian
"animal doctor, one who practices the art of treating disease and injuries in domestic animals," 1640s
from Latin veterinarius "of or having to do with beasts of burden," also, as a noun, "cattle doctor," from veterinum "beast of burden;" veterinus "draft animals."
This is from vetus (genitive veteris) "old" (see veteran), possibly from the notion of "experienced," or of "one year old" (hence strong enough to draw burdens)
niece
c. 1300, nece, "daughter of one's brother or sister; granddaughter; female relative"
from Old French niece "niece; granddaughter" (12c., Modern French nièce), earlier niepce
from Latin neptia feminine form or nepos "granson, nephew"
Interestingly prior to 1600 CE 'niece' could also mean 'granddaughter' or any remote kinswoman
