Honestly, the last 4 months have been some of the hardest times of my life. I did not think that a break up could emotionally destroy me the way it did, I lost all confidence in both my appearance and my personality so quickly. It was such a shock for me. In the long run I think this has been the best thing that could ever happen to me. My ex was definitely holding me back and making me want to settle for less - instead of finishing uni this year I’m carrying on to do a masters and I’m going to be a million times more successful than I ever would have been with him.

I have managed to find some confidence from myself, not based on the opinions of others. Losing 40lbs in 6 months has definitely helped a lot with that. I feel good about myself. Something that really made me think was something one of my friends said to me the other day - you can’t base your self worth on the opinions of one person. Sure, Joe didn’t love me, but I’m confident one day somebody else will. And even if they don’t, I do (or at least I’m working on it). I am honestly so thankful for all the wonderful people in my life who were so supportive and lovely while I wasn’t very fun to be around.

The last half of 2016 was not what I expected it to be like whatsoever, but I came through it and will leave it a stronger person. 2017 will be my year.

#bit rambling but I find writing/posting things on here makes me feel better
