An AI needs training data, and could they really have true creativity just from knowing? Probably not, so here's my game theory: Abstraction allows Caine to sort of "absorb" the member's mind. Once they abstract, he can sort of use their brain as a catalyst of sorts. Think like the Matrix — humans are used as batteries. So why hasn't Kinger abstracted yet? Maybe it's because he's a programmer and Caine is his greatest achievement, he could have possibly already given everything he could give to Caine in terms of improvement. Like AM, Caine is constantly trying to improve himself. He's becoming the best version of himself, through any means possible. And since Caine never wants to be bored, maybe he didn't abstract Kinger thinking he would have no one left.
