“Listen, I need a huge favor. I really want to get a picture of the carnival from the top of the Ferris Wheel but I’m too much of a coward to ride that thing alone. You have to go with me. Pretty please?”

“Of course, sweetie. I’m kinda scared of them too but it can’t be that bad as long as you’re with someone else, can it?”

“Finally classes are over and I am so ready to party. Isn’t a shame that this festival is a dry event during the day?”

“Why, darlin’? Don’t know what it’s like to have fun without bein’ under the influence? ”

Sh, I’m hiding! Mindy is trying to convince me to sing karaoke with her and between you and I, nobody wants to hear that. I’m being serious, my parents unfortunately passed down their terrible singing — I was kicked out of the choir when I was eight. So please, please don’t tell her where I am? The cotton candy’s on me.

“Aww Frankie, can’t you just barely whisper when you do it? Or pretend to be super drunk, that way no one will judge you if you’re really as horrible as you say you are.”

“Then leave that to me, you can full trust that I’m not going to take you off to some lame excuse of an exhibition. I know places, many places, all over the globe.. after graduation will do. It doesn’t take so long for me to plan out these things, there’s no need to put money into saving accounts and pray for some miracle. Canada is same old same old, you could easily have one of your country boys take you there; I’m not taking you there. Point proven, small town girl.”

“I really hope you don’t, but the good thing about bein’ with me is that it doesn’t take much to please. Unless you’re you, of course. I think I’ll make it a little harder for you just for fun. Really? You can just snap your fingers and say I’m gonna go somewhere and be ready to leave by the next day? What a life. I could have one of them take me, but nothin’ in Canada interests me. Small town girl, that’s me. I’ll try not to get too excited if we go to a big city. It’s all new to me, though.”

“I like to remain optimist but I can’t say I called you actually agreeing to my offer, I thought you were too far gone in your little small town bubble. Nonetheless, I’m delighted that you agreed; you pick the dates, however, I’m in charge of the places.. I hope you like helicopters, and for once.. that wasn’t a sexual innuendo.”

“Well, if you knew me as well as you said you did, you’d know I’m not one to pass up an offer at an adventure or two. Just ‘cause I like small towns and the charm of them doesn’t mean I don’t wanna see the world or experience new things. -- I dunno when to go, after graduation? I do have a small request though when it comes to the location - nowhere in Canada, please. I’ve never been in a helicopter, I didn’t even know it was somethin’ sexual.”

“Because I’m manipulative, an true asshole and I only think about myself.. fact, but also this time around.. I’m being nothing but charitable; believe it or not, I actually want to show you things that small town baseball players can’t. I think I know you by now, and I’m pretty clear on what it takes to make you happy.. you won’t get those kind of advantages sticking to the less privileged..” 

“Alright then, take me somewhere, just for the hell of it. Anywhere you think that’s gonna make me happy, I’m curious. I’ll even pay for my own things.”
