Do you tend to like the popular wlw ships? I feel like I hardly do and if so it’s always years later after the hype has died down and there’s less of a fandom. Which I don’t really mind because often a fandom has made the experience less enjoyable by nitpicking and arguing everything to death. I also realized that a lot of ships are either way too mild or contentious in an offputting way that doesn’t appeal to me? Idk I like a spark and a bit of bite and but also deeply satisfying chemistry and because there are so little lesbian ships I feel like I hardly ever find that. What about you?

Damn.... this ask lowkey made me realize I'm usually lukewarm to anti popular ships 😭 and just to clarify canon doesn't always equal popular but when I think of some of the Big Ships like clexa (the 100), supercorp (supergirl), hollstein (carmilla), emison (pll), I either hated it and shipped an opposing pair or never really got invested in the fandom to care. But tbf this is pretty much how I am with even the het ships so maybe it's just me and my pickyness.

I LOVED garsantos up until this season because it got way too relatable for me irl lol but even so I haven’t been able to get into another ship not because they aren’t interesting but because the chemistry just isn’t there imo. Like I love that there are so many woman on the show and so many options for headcanons etc but nothing gets compares to the wild messiness and electricity of their first meet and first few interactions. I constantly think about Garcia asking Santos’ sign and Collins being stunned because that was literally me lmao. Also the fact that she still wanted her after the scalpel-foot incident lmaooo. I think maybe I could get into Samira (hate that she’s going and might be my final straw in watching because in general I didn’t really love s2 ngl) and Trinity but I also think Trinity needs opposition? Idk how to articulate it but it’s the same with Mel like in fics they’re cute but in the show with how Mel is written I don’t think they’d be good for each other be. But it’s the opposite with Barsantos. Weirdly I just don’t see her with anyone rn but I love the idea of her and McKay if they let them interact more next season. Also agree about mcVadi I think canon McKay sees her as a kid and wouldn’t go there. And I don’t see the chemistry either lol with all the wlw ships I feel like I’m at a buffet and everything looks amazing but I’m allergic to all of it 😭

the pitt is maybe the first fandom i've been in where SO many ships are based on fleeting interactions and maybe that's part of why sometimes fanon interpretations of characters can get so split off from what we see of them in canon. it also doesn't help that the nature of how the show is set up gives us crumbs in terms of understanding who these characters are outside of their specific high pressure work environment.

agreed that if i had to pick someone for al-hashimi, mckay would be interesting. but they also just have a lot of potential things to bond over. mckay is probably the closest aligned to her in terms of personality. one of my main disappointments in s2 was that al-hashimi didn't really interact much with the other doctors in a meaningful capacity.

i'm with you though, when it comes to my ships i need at least some kind of real initial spark to set off the shipping wildfire. i fear nothing this show does will ever top the arrogant hot shot getting So Visibly Charmed and Thirsty for the eager gunner on day 1 of meeting to the point where everyone around them is discombobulated. their s1 set up is going to feed me throughout the rest of the lifetime of this show even if both characters get written off!

What do you think of the McKay Javadi ship? I feel like I like it do much more in fanon than canon which is rare because usually when fans distort a ship to the point where the characters are not even recognizable I find it irritating, but for some reason, it just doesn’t bother me this time lol

while i don't really ship anything on the pitt outside of garsantos, i 100% see the appeal of mcvadi (even though i think in canon mckay would never because she very much sees javadi in the same group as harrison). but the ship has good canon material to build a foundation for the fanon side

trinity and robby are BY FAR the most comfortable around each other. joking and ribbing. trusting in each other's abilities. robby pushing her to go see the trauma counselor twice, keeping it light with her much of the time but undercurrented with concern. trinity having zero qualms with rolling her eyes at him and talking back to him because it's Robby.

where she's clashing with Baran and triggered by Langdon, she clearly relaxes and feels comfortable around Robby. she's fine with rolling her eyes and talking back to him. she essentially talks to him as an equal and he easily allows it. he thinks she's funny, laughs at some of her jokes. calls her to get in on traumas because he likes teaching her procedures. I don't care what narrative you try to spin on them, he clearly favors her, she clearly favors him, and it's been soooo enjoyable to me this season.

I could make a whole post on "why Robby?" because you guys are acting like it's some sorta out of the blue decision or a stupid decision when that's not at all true. I will probably break down s1 dynamics that show this was always their trajectory at some point.

#the way i have to lol. el oh el even. at people who think santos would thrive better under abbot on the night shift #or that santos should have this Moment Of Clarity where she shuns robby after being under the leadership of al-hashimi #but babes santos is the only one not getting chewed up and spit out by robby s2 bc they Click #santos likes learning from robby and being occasionally goaded by him #robby doesn't try and mold santos into a vision of the doctor he thinks she should be like whitaker or mohan #bc she's already the type of doctor he wants as shown by how he describes her to al-hashimi #and like it or not she is actually like bonded to him #you'd think robby not reporting langdon stealing drugs would've made her hold even a small grudge against him #but she doesn't bc he did the most important thing which is believe her when she came to him and defend her when he saw langdon rip into her #and he's the only one who doesn't welcome langdon back with open arms in s2 and feels some ounce of what she feels #santos understands imperfection and she's simply not going to cast robby aside for being fallible #also her going to robby like a whiny kid telling their dad to make the annoying baby sitting go away #when she asked about al-hashimi and robby smirking about it #told me all i needed to know about their fondness for each other lmao #the pitt
