You CREATE Miette? you drag her from peaceful nonexistance into loud reality? oh! oh! jail for demiurge! jail for demiurge for One Thousand Years!
The parking attendant paused by the double-length bay. Intended for mobile homes and cars with trailers, it was currently occupied by a sleeping dragon.
No parts of it extended beyond the lines, and the paper ticket was clearly displayed, impaled on a horn.
The parking attendant moved on.
I was going to just queue it for later but then it stuck in my brain, and I decided to make it everyone's problem
That has to be the most humiliating way to describe one of Earth's most terrifyingly effective predators.
Picture of her from the USA Today
I would let her kill me for sport
why is this post completely broken in every way imaginable
Broken notes… deactivated account… removed image….
Finally, we have them all.
In addition: OP’s name is just… gone. No “[insert username]-deactivated[insert a bunch of numbers]” as is the standard for deactivated blogs.
Just the world “deactivated.” Look upon their post, ye mighty, and despair.
It’ll be almost impossible to find this post unless it wanders across your dash.
It wandered across mine. I shall help it travel forward.
this is not a place of honor
Oh hey post of Ozymandius, good to see you again standing on your feet in a desert where no one remembers you

Out of Touch
Out of Touch Thursday
OUT OF TOUCH THURSDAY
but im out of my head when you’re not around…
happy birthday.
this is the only out of touch thursday you can reblog this
I love rebloging. It’s the adult equivalent of showing everyone the cool rock I just found.
An Isekai is...
Just another word for portal fantasy; Alice in Wonderland would qualify
portal fantasy + OP/power fantasy protagonist
portal fantasy + video game/LitRPG elements
portal fantasy + harem plot
portal fantasy + snarky self-awareness
portal fantasy + some/all of the above
@tobiasdrake
Bleh, I don't agree with any of these options! I say an isekai is a genre that usually but not always includes elements of portal fantasy, and that other hallmarks of the genre include the things listed in the other options. I think it's silly to try to say that the presence of a single trope is the make or breaks whether or not something belongs to a genre!
Like, there are plenty of shows that nobody would disagree with calling them isekai, where the fact that one of the characters came from another world is not a particularly important plot point. Like it's mentioned once in the first episode and then never again, or it's left as an implication that's never confirmed or directly discussed. To say that such a thing in the definitive statement on the show's genre is silly, surely!
All this talk about isekais and whether or not the characters should want to go back makes me think strongly of the Wayward Children series - which is more portal fantasy than isekai - and how much those kids want to go back. (Narnia functions the same way, but maybe that's the difference between a portal fantasy and an isekai?)
Is portal fantasy the kind where they're able to go back and forth between the two worlds at will, like Digimon Adventure 02?
My opinion is that trying to interrogate the boundaries of genres in terms of the trope checklists is a fool's errand- it's always all too easy to find exceptions, when you look at it from that angle- and it's more useful to define genres by looking at the literary tradition they exist within
The difference between isekai and portal fantasy is that portal fantasy is a genre of western fantasy novels, and isekai is a genre primarily written by Japanese writers on Narou, many of whom were directly or indirectly inspired by works such as Sword Art Online. Under this definition, I would argue that although the existence of a character from the 'real' world is a very common isekai trope- to the point where the genre is named after that trope- it is by no means unheard of for an isekai to forgo that element.
And, furthermore, I would argue that series such as Digimon Adventure, or Inuyasha, or other similar series, are a third genre that's distinct from either of the above- they functionally have so little in common that it doesn't feel useful to me to act like they're the same thing, beyond the macro level of analyzing trends in anime.

I feel like a lot of people engaging in torture are not treating their victims as if they could have blood borne pathogens 🤔
Is what my wife said apropo of nothing as we were silently drifting off to sleep
Uh oh
Is what she said when I immediately reached for my phone and opened Tumblr instead of responding
@everything-you-feel-is-real I know by tumblr tradition that I'm to say "impossible, my posts never blow up like that," or "please don't do this to me."
But I feel in my bones that you are right. If this is to be my wife's moment of glory, I am willing to suffer notification overload, that the world may know she is funny. #MyFunnyWife

Imagine being hunted for sport in this fucking house
So this is what rich people do with their 5th house.
Fire marshals would hunt this man for sport.
So would zombies. I now see where Resident Evil architects got the idea to make you properly arrange puzzle pieces into a moon or a lion or some shit in order to get through a door while something is coming up the corridor behind you thinking, "Looks mighty tasty, don't mind if I do."
I am amazed by the sheer commitment to every bit. This house isn’t just a funhouse, it’s a cartoon, a haunted house, and a Scooby-doo door gag all rolled into one.
Also this house is definitively hostile to any form of accessibility.
Like, c’mon dude, ya gotta live in this house! This shit won’t seem nearly as charming once you find yourself having to navigate it at 3:00 am!!!
Bestie's mom found this sealed pack of... some kind of TCG cards. We think it's Pokemon? Kinda looks like Zekrom? But I was wondering if anyone out there might recognize this art and know what we've got our hands on before we open it.
10 packs, 1 per pack
Reverse Google Image Search got me to this. As an aside, are you gonna try to make money off of this or do you just wanna satisfy your personal curiosity? Because in the latter, it's usually best practice to not open unopened packs
They're trying to find out if it's worth money, yeah.
Okay, so when it comes to CG card packs, it's generally wise to not open them.
The reason for this is simple: If you open the pack, then it's as valuable as the rarest card you find in it. If it's an unopen pack, then it's as valuable as the rarest card that COULD be found in it.
There are ways to tell what cards can potentially be found in certain runs of card packs. I dunno how to do it, but I know it can be done. People will use those to determine what cards have the possibility to be in a pack, and use that to determine how much they'll pay for it.
If the card pack has any text on it, I suggest fnding as much identifying information as you can, since that'll help determining potential value
Yeah, that's what we're trying to avoid by figuring out what set it belongs to without opening it.
What does the other side look like?
Just the same picture repeated on the backside.
I don't think that's a card pack, then. Unless it's a box?
Card packs normally don't have the same picture on both sides; one side would be the picture (and usually the title of the card set), and then the back has the flap for opening (length-wise down the center). Is the flap at the top meant to open it?
It is, yes. But it's sealed with an adhesive.
I did think it was weird how much it doesn't look like any card sleeve I've seen, but I thought maybe they were trying something different.
I asked Bestie where they got it, and they said their mom bought it off some influencer. So now I'm thinking maybe it's like a custom "surprise pack" of cards rather than an official booster pack.
That would definitely make sense to me- google also turned up a bunch of tiktok links that didn't work when I tried to click on them, for me.
