really cool actually that rhodes island's oripathy research isn't groundbreaking in the sense that they're the first to discover things like suppressants or diagnostic techniques, the groundbreaking part is in how much they do to make these things widely and cheaply accessible to the public. its kind of a core conceit of the story that most everyone with authority doesn't give much of a fuck about the infected and on the international scale it's really only rhodes island that tries to provide help to the infected specifically, but oripathy has existed for the entirety of recorded history so it'd be ridiculous if rhodes island were the first to research diagnosing and treating it at all
Overall the Sarkaz can't be a stand-in for any singular real world group because in-universe they're supposed to be the entire native population of the planet. all their tribes were just as different to each other as Lupos and Felines and Dracos and so on, they were only grouped together because of racism. Kazdel was the name of the whole planet and only became the name of a city because the colonizers took everything but that city from them.
It's like if aliens invaded a fantasy world and just started calling elves, dwarves, orcs and so on just "earthlings (derogatory)" and over time that definition stuck. It would be extremely dissonant if the Sarkaz just had a singular real-world counterpart while the Elder and the Ancients get to keep their vast array of different cultural inspirations with each of their groups representing an entire country on their own. not a coincidence they keep referencing a lot of different people and myths from all over and their language doesn't have any real-world analogue like pretty much everyone else in the setting.
kinda off-topic I guess but the "aliens invading a fantasy setting" comparison is also the the reason why - despite understanding why people would have a problem with it - I never quite agreed with the idea that having characters like the Sanguinarch going around exploding people like an unkillable horror monster ruins the metaphor by overly demonizing the Sarkaz because it just made sense to me, you know? Arknights is very gritty and metaphorical and down-to-earth but it's also a fantasy story at the same time and in fact a lot of the fun of its worldbuilding comes from how they apply real-world concepts to fantasy concepts (ex. I'm always thinking about that tidbit from Terra: a Journey about how the eastern dragon people and the western dragon people are actually entirely different races only grouped together because of a mitranslation during the first contact between their cultures) and so like, when you have the idea of the Fantasy World being invaded by aliens, of course then you'd follow it to its natural conclusion that those who are usually the villains and the monsters of these fantasy stories are also being invaded. Of course you have the super ancient evil vampires and undead legions and all those who seem like they belong in the Demon Lord's army among the Sarkaz (hell, their leader is straight up the Demon King). I think it's fascinating from a worldbuilding perspective how the game showed the ways this millennia-long oppression and colonization also affected these "superbosses"/"demon king's generals", it just kinda checks out that they'd also be there and have opinions about the whole thing, especially because if they're like this it's clearly because they were shaped by literal millennia of war and oppression they had to live through and not because that's simply how they were born or whatever.
and also by comparing these characters to the equivalent of the human empires Arknights ends up strenghtening the metaphor by still making the Victorian nobles and soldiers and so on feel even more monstrous than the fantasy monsters, like in ep 14 where the Duke of Wellington's warship is described in the same terms as the Nachzherers despite all the time spent on building up Nezzsalem and giving him an aura worthy of the final enemy of a high fantasy novel, or Vaela's description of the war 200 years ago that made the Alliance's army feel like a legion from hell, or with the Ursus army in ep 16 having direct parallels with the Collapsals, but this is an idea I already explored more in depth elsewhere.

i think one of the worst things the left wing internet ever did was push the idea that oppression is basically a virtue, and being oppressed is a sign of your morality. it has made it like…impossible for some of you to hold the idea that most people are privileged in some ways and oppressed in others. AND a lot of you seem to have it in your mind that terrible people cannot be oppressed, and that oppressed people cannot do terrible things, which is a dangerous rhetoric to hold imo.
