Every so often, Dieter does something that hints at the innocence he once had.

This is an introductory story for my Sole Survivor Reuben and MacCready (I wrote this back in July).

Reuben is an alcoholic and this seemingly jovial instance captures a particularly terrible moment for him as his sobriety has been compromised. He had been (barely) sober before entering Vault 111 but living in post-war Massachusetts eventually caused him to spiral. His relapse caused a big fight between some of his companions and friends, but Reuben only blames himself.

Reuben has a hard time setting boundaries with Hancock.

Something I drew for Meat Week on Fallout 76.

The majority of the time he makes decisions based on the outcome benefiting him. However, Reuben despises those who target the innocent and he has a soft spot for ostracised groups (ghouls, synths, etc) and so it isn’t uncommon for him to help those in need where the only reward is satisfaction. Reuben is very hard to tie down, or even locate. For this reason he tends to accept (or decline) mercenary work and other jobs on the spot.
