The quite town of Garyville Louisiana is largely known for its intricate, and artistic bonfires, lit on Christmas Eve to help guide Santa Claus through what was once a dark and vast swampland. Every year the locals obtain permits, and participate in the ritual of assembling these beacons of fire along the Mississippi River to light the way for Papa Noel. One night a year the town would would glow from the flames of these wooden structures.
Now the area is not so dark thanks to big petroleum. The mammoth size of the Marathon Petroleum oil refinery sprawls across two towns. The refinery gives Garyville, and neighboring town Reserve a glowing industrial skyline that shuts us off from the celestial bodies that our ancestors gazed at.
I have been researching local weirdness of all kinds, paranormal, cryptid, Ufology, etc. when stumbled upon this report. The detail that caught my attention was that the objects seemed to emanate from ground level, supporting the notion that these objects may not come from space. Perhaps they come from below, or maybe even a place more exotic such as a different dimension.

Duration: 3 minutes
At approx. 20:30hrs CDT, I witnessed swarm of bright orange flickering lights, rising from the ground, ascending into the sky, moving at a slow speed toward the northeast. The location I observed these objects was one half mile west of the Marathon Oil Refinery located in Garyville, Louisiana. I was parked at a local salvage yard on highway 61 facing south.
These objects began rising from the distant tree line due south of me at a distance of approx. 12 to 15 miles.
