Concern and despair were clear expressions on Lucas’s face as he tried to come to terms with his current situation. Elijah couldn’t be serious about locking him up in this room with no way out– right?

“N-now, Eli..” he began with an uncharacteristic stutter. “Surely you can’t expect me to stay inside this room the entire day. I have to go to work! And my Pokémon will be sad if I don’t take them for walks.” Lucas needn’t explain all of this to Elijah. He practically knew his entire life routine. Which, come to think of it, is starting to seem pretty unusual considering they are just friends.

It was cute how Lucas thought about his Pokémon, which caused Elijah to grin. Lucas was such a caring person. It’d be such a shame if he was taken by anyone else. Lucas was someone precious to be protected.

Still sticking to his previous thoughts, eh? Lucas had to do something and quick. This was turning into something possibly dangerous-- borderline kidnapping. He could feel his freedom slipping away with each passing second.

“Look,” Lucas spoke softly to try and derail the situation. “You know as well as I do that it’s not possible for me to stay cooped up in this room all day. Even if we were more than friends it still wouldn’t be possible. Think about it logically!” he paused and thought for a moment before he thought of something clever to get himself out of this place.

Elijah not only rejected Lucas but had threatened him, too. Truly, there was no greater insult than that. Despite the warning, Lucas knew that Elijah was weaker than him in both strength and wit. There would undoubtedly be blood, but it wouldn’t be his own.

Lucas seemed to stop breathing altogether as he slumped midair. Tears welled up in his eyes as he came to terms with what happened. A hysteric laughter bubbled from his chest, tears falling down his face.

“Don’t touch me!” Lucas mimicked, using the same panicked tone Elijah had.  “Do that again and you’ll be missing a finger..” he whispered as he stared emotionless at the white knuckles of his clenched hand.

Lucas stood to face Elijah directly, repeating “don’t touch me” through erratic giggling.

“If I don’t touch you, how can I show you my love?” he wheezed through the tears and choked laughter. “You can’t bring me this far just to leave me.”

“Love? You don’t love me. I… I don’t know what you’re feeling, but it isn’t even close to love.” Elijah did his best not to yell at the other. Getting Lucas upset even further from yelling wasn’t the best idea, but Elijah still wanted to give him a piece of his mind. “If it was love, you’d respect me. And there isn’t any of that going on, is there?”

Noticing that Lucas looked like he was about to take out something, Elijah took another step back, wanting to make a distance between them.

Lucas brought his knuckles to his face, knocking on his forehead while shaking his head. Crazy? Crazy? He’s not crazy. If anything, Elijah is the crazy one. 

He’s crazy. Crazy for not realizing how much he meant to Lucas.

He continued to throw his head back and forth until his shoulders started to shake. There was an abrupt stop to all his movements. He wiped at his mouth and looked to the side, eyes dry and red.

“I do respect you. I respect you, but I know when you’re wrong.” Lucas sniffed. “I know.. I know. I know.” he said, punctuating each sentence with a slap to his chest.

“Leave you alone? I don’t understand.”

The sentence alone was a terrifying concept to Lucas. To be told to leave by the one he held dear sent a sharp pain to his heart. His mind starting flickering through the different scenarios that the situation could lead to. If he left now, he’d wonder what he did wrong the whole time. Paranoia would settle in as he questioned Elijah’s feelings for him until it drove him insane and he would end up crawling back too soon. If he chose to ignore Elijah’s demand, Lucas would end up bothering him to a point where Elijah would most likely end up running away out of annoyance.

Lucas didn’t want to see either of those outcomes, but he didn’t want to walk away. He needed to stay. He needed to ignore the foolish words that fell from Elijah’s mouth. Elijahdoesn’t know what he really wants. Yes. That’s right. Lucas needed to remind Elijah that what he wants is right here in front of him.

Lucas cupped Elijah’s face with his hands and tilted his head upwards in attempt to force eye contact. His eyes looked wistful, scary, and excited all at once.

“Don’t you see, Elijah? I can’t leave you alone.”

Of course Lucas understood; who in their right mind would want this sort of attention? If it was simply a crush, Elijah would have found it endearing. It would have been welcome. But this sort of stalking, this complete lack of privacy to the point where he always felt he was being watched, this was far from want Elijah ever wanted.

"You’re already falling asleep, don’t fight it…”

“This leash is such a flattering color on you…”

“I’ll break your legs so you don’t run away.”

“You were with someone else, I know it!”

“You don’t want me to gag you, do you?”

“Doesn’t our love being forbidden make it even more romantic?”

“You make cute expressions when you’re asleep and all alone…”

“I’ve always been there for you even when you didn’t realize it.”

“Forget a big wedding, who needs to know?”

"Help! Someone help me!”

“So you killed my friends?!”

“You promised you’d never hurt me…”

“Will you let me out this once? I’ll behave, I promise!”

“How can you say we’re meant to be?”

“Oh my god! You’re insane!”

“A restraining order is what you’ll get!”

“What’s going on? Where am I?”

“W-wait, can’t we talk about this?!”

“I never said I hated you, so please. Please stop this!”

"You’re starting to scare me…”

“I’ll never love you.”

“But I’m with someone else.”

“He/She’ll save me, you’ll see…”

“N-no, not there!”

“Why are you being so demanding, you don’t own me!”

“Stop, I can’t take it!”
