Trying to secure moving funds. Tired of being so choked out by the neighbors noise and smoking indoors for MONTHS and it’s making us physically ill. Gf has migraines and has felt sick almost every day since they moved in. All the landlord did was send a Nothing email reminder to everyone about not smoking on the premises bc it’s against the lease and told me there’s nothing else they could do even though 2 other neighbors confronted them about it.

Anything helps. My commissions are still open but with the expectation that I cannot complete it quickly. Cost is looking to be fucking, 8k. 4800 to break the lease and something in the ballpark of 3200 to keep squared away for first/last months rent for somewhere new.

I just read the funniest thing ever. Okay so, apparently Friedrich Wilhelm III told his bishop (and biographer) that he used to play ball near Frederick the Great's desk. And because the ball kept falling and falling onto the desk Federick took the ball. Little Fritz Willy apparently then asked for the ball back (basically "Does thy Majesty want to give me the ball back or not?"). And Frederick gave it back with a smile and the words: You won't let anyone take Silesia from you.

The Boarding and Capture of the British Frigate HMS Ambuscade by the French Corvette La Bayonnaise in 1798, by Louis-Philippe Crépin (1752–1851) The capture of HMS Ambuscade on 14 December 1798 was one of the most remarkable single-ship actions of the French Revolutionary Wars. During a fierce battle in the Caribbean, the much smaller French corvette La Bayonnaise closed with the larger British frigate HMS Ambuscade, allowing French sailors to overwhelm the enemy in brutal hand-to-hand combat. Despite the odds, the French secured a celebrated victory.
