Everyday worship: Hades

Lemon is known for its purification prosperities. It can cleanse the body of negative energies. Here are some tips for using lemon in your practice.

Put lemon in your tea to cleanse your body. This can also be good for sore throats. 

Gather all of your negative energy to the palm of your hand. Rub a lemon slice over your hand to dissolve the negativity. Wash your hands after. 

Dry lemon peels and grind into a powder to use in happiness or energy spells. 

Keep a lemon or a symbol that represents a lemon on your altar for increased positivity in your space. Citrus fruits in general are good for happiness in my experience. 

A small squeeze of lemon in a glass of water can help with nausea or anxiety. You might want to avoid this if you’re prone to heartburn, however. 

Dried lemon peels can be used for spells that require yellow symbolism.

Hades is the Greek god of the dead and wealth, and the King of the Underworld. He is associated with the cornucopia, cypress, narcissus, keys, serpents, mint, white poplar, dog, pomegranate, sheep, cattle, screech owls, horses and chariots.

Scissors - Scissors can be used in a lot of rituals with a primary influence in cutting things. It can be used to cut illness, cut the evil eye, cut spells away from a person or cut away any influences. It can be used in protection spells, especially against malefica (open up a pair of scissors to protect against witches). So one ritual you could do was to open up a pair of scissors and place your target candle in front of the blades.

Coins - it can be used in spells of prosperity but also in petition to spirits. You attach the coin to a candle in payment to a spirit for a work to be done. Some rituals to San Ramon to stop a person from speaking make use of sticking the coin on San Ramon's Mouth in both payment and symbolizing his ability to silence people.

Eggs - Eggs have been used in ritual cleansings in many cultures across the world, they've also been used in divination. Alternatively, they can be used as symbols of birth, fertility and gestation (good for working servitors). It can also be used as a base for many powders.

Chamomile - Chamomile has properties as a herb of peace, curse breaking, divination and good fortune. Rubbing a candle with blessed oil, salt then chamomile can be used as a curse breaking or cleansing candle. Washing a candle in rose water and covering it in chamomile can be used in bringing peace to the home. Covering a candle in honey or a syrup and covering it in chamomile can be used as a money candle.

A lot of the time, you see crystal references that refer to favorable metaphysical properties of the stones, but in this list, we are going to be looking at more negatively associated properties that could be used in your magickal working. These properties are brought out from the stones primarily when used in situations that use their kna in excess or metaphysical properties that we would associate with more negative aspects of being.

Amethyst: To cause oversensitivity to spiritual kna and to cause illusion.

Lapis Lazuli: To cause illusion, oversensitivity, detachment, and ungroundedness.

Opal: To cause bad luck and greed.

Quartz Crystal: To cause kna overflow.

Selenite: To cause kna overflow.

Flint: To cause conflicts.

Pyrite: To cause illusion, bad luck, and greed.

Obsidian: To cause overwhelming emotions and conflicts.

Diamond: To cause binding on a physical or spiritual level, betrayal, bad luck, and greed.

Blue Lace Agate: To cause people to confess to their actions.

Celestite: To cause detachment and ungroundedness.

Jasper: To cause aggression, anger, and overbearing control.

Tiger’s eye: To cause arrogance, pride, and egotism.

Pearls: To cause bad luck, sadness, and depression

Emerald: To summon harmful entities.

Agate: To turn your enemies against themselves and to cause confusion.

Burying - Earth is the slowest element but also the most stable. To bury a spell in some capacity or another is to ensure long term, stable and consistent results. To do so in various areas is to extend these results in various ways. If a piece of ground is consecrated, then it empowers the spell. To bury something in a graveyard (having followed all appropriate etiquette) is to put something to rest or to let it work with the aid of the spirits. To bury something on the property is to bring it towards the home or to make it manifest there. In absence of soil, one can easily prepare a pot of dirt and consecrate it, burying everything in there.

The Vessel Method - through rituals, a spiritual womb may be created for the creation of a spirit/servitor or even a spell. The same way that one creates a spell bag, a spirit vessel or a spell jar. It simply means that the energy is concentrated in its own little domain from where it can work. The bonus of this is that, if the spell is sealed, it acts as a good protection - stuff can' get in, stuff can't get out. A spell I always had in mind was to create a spiritual womb and, through ritual, create a servitor in it.

By Word - if we were to go off certain ideas, this entire world is a series of vibrations. Atoms vibrate as well. The voice is one of the vibrations we have control over, and by training and using the voice - we can obtain a good deal of control. From chants, to humming, to ritual whistling and singing, you get the idea. I've actually had experiences with a hex that turned out amazingly and most of the ritual was actually spent swearing at the candle and cursing over the person. Alternatively, to speak words over someone, incantations over a wound or afflicted part of the body and to whisper it also aids. A good technique would be to go to a windy place, gather energy in the voice and then speak into one's hands and throw it into the air (spell-flinging)

By Symbol and Mark - symbols exist in thousands of forms and thousands of symbol exist in magick. Catholic and Christian Witches use the Sign of the Cross in spells of benediction, self cleansing and preparation. The pentagram (specifically the invoking pentagram) is used to draw in energy and the banishing pentagram of earth is used to banish energy. The Mano Cornutto and the Mano Fico are examples of sign by gesture by which one may avert evil and the evil eye. One can draw a symbol in the air, carry a specific set of characters, draw it on their front doorstep to ward or attract or engave it into the ground used for ritual works. Various gestures and postures are also found, which can be used in one's own rituals.
