CLASS OF 1968 50TH REUNION

Garden Grove High School's Class of 1968 will be having their 50th Reunion on Saturday June 9, 2018 from 6PM-11PM at the

Garden Grove Elks Lodge #1952 (11551 Trask Ave, Garden Grove, CA 92843).

Admission is $50 per person and includes Hors d'oeuvres, Taco Bar, No-Host Bar, Photo Booth, DJ & Dancing. Please send payment by Sunday April 1, 2018 to Nancy Tucker. To RSVP or for more information, please email Gail Reynolds (Reed).

MICHAEL A. MONSOOR MEMORIAL STADIUM DEDICATION

***EVENT REMINDER***

The Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education will host a Dedication Ceremony of the new Michael A. Monsoor Memorial Stadium to honor the life and memory of Petty Officer Second Class (SEAL) Michael A. Monsoor, a 1999 Garden Grove High School graduate and posthumous Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, on Friday September 8, 2017 at 6:00PM at Garden Grove High School (11271 Stanford Avenue, Garden Grove, CA 92840). 

General admission tickets are $8 and include the football game of Garden Grove High School vs. Woodbridge High School following the ceremony. 

DEDICATION HIGHLIGHTS: Patriot Parachute Team skydiving onto the field. Military flyover. Presentation of the U.S. flag by crew member of the guided missile destroyer USS Michael Monsoor (DDG-1001). Keynote speaker is Jason Booher, the founder and first commander of the Navy SEAL unit in Ramadi, Iraq, where Monsoor gave his life. Gift presentation by GGUSD high school athletes to the Monsoor family.

STADIUM FEATURES: 4,000 seats. Synthetic turf field. Nine-lane synthetic track. Energy-efficient lighting. LED scoreboard. Well-appointed press box. New restrooms. Ticket booths. Concession stand that honors Michael A. Monsoor with a plaque describing his heroic actions.

MICHAEL A. MONSOOR MEMORIAL STADIUM DEDICATION

The Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education will host a Dedication Ceremony of the new Michael A. Monsoor Memorial Stadium on Friday September 8, 2017 at 6:00PM at Garden Grove High School (11271 Stanford Avenue, Garden Grove, CA 92840). 

The event will kick off the high school football season, showcase the new state-of-the-art stadium to the community, and honor the life and memory of Petty Officer Second Class (SEAL) Michael A. Monsoor, a 1999 Garden Grove High School graduate and posthumous Congressional Medal of Honor recipient.

Tickets for the Stadium Dedication are $8 and include the football game of Garden Grove High School vs. Woodbridge High School following the ceremony. It will be the first game played at the Michael A. Monsoor Memorial Stadium which is the home of the Garden Grove High School Argonauts, Los Amigos High School Lobos, and Santiago High School Cavaliers.

GGHSAA MEMBERSHIP - Garden Grove High School Alumni, are you an official member of the Garden Grove High School Alumni Association (GGHSAA)? We invite all Argonauts to attend meetings to assist in the planning and production of upcoming Programs and Activities.

2017 ACRP (EVENT REMINDER) 

Argonauts, are YOU ready to rock RED and WHITE?!? TOMORROW Garden Grove High School Alumni Association is hosting their 20th Annual All Class Reunion and Picnic on Saturday June 10, 2017 from 11:00AM-3:00PM at Garden Grove High School. The entrance and check-in is through the gate on Seventh Street side. 

The theme is "RED and WHITE Forever", in honor of Garden Grove High School's official school colors SO wear your best RED and WHITE attire to show your Argonaut pride.

The event will feature a Food Booth by Garcia Shack Catering food truck (cash or credit; 10% of food sales go to GGHSAA), a Membership Booth (cash or check), a Merchandise Booth (cash or check), a Raffle Booth (cash), a DJ, a Photobooth, a Cheer performance, and memorabilia in Heritage Hall.

CITY OF GARDEN GROVE 2017 OPEN STREETS

The City of Garden Grove is hosting their 3rd annual Garden Grove Open Streets from 3PM-6PM plus a Main Street After-Party from 6PM-10PM on Saturday April 1, 2017 (April Fool’s Day) in Downtown Garden Grove. 

Garden Grove City Hall is in partnership with Go Human and Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). 

Residents and visitors will be able to explore a 2.5-mile route with 10 car-free zones that will demonstrate options for active transportation enhancements in the community. 

Event highlights include: Neighborhood Greenway, Interactive Activities, Dog Show and Expo, Vendors, Food Trucks, Beer/Wine Gardens, Live Entertainment, and many more!

So don't be a “fool” and miss out on this action-packed adventure this Saturday! Experience a re-envisioned downtown environment celebrating the community, diverse cultures, and a healthy lifestyle.

2017 DINE & DONATE FUNDRAISER (EVENT DAY REMINDER)

Garden Grove High School Alumni Association is hosting it’s 2017 Dine & Donate Fundraiser with the theme “Luck Of The Argos” TODAY on Friday March 17, 2017 from 6PM-10PM at La Casa Garcia Restaurant.

La Casa Garcia has created a delicious special menu for us and will include our exclusive drink, the “ARGOrita”, at Happy Hour pricing.

GGHSAA will have a promotional table where you can learn about our organization, you (Alumni) can join our Membership Program as an “Active Member”, you can purchase select GGHSAA merchandise items, and you can contribute monetary donations to GGHSAA. Payments accepted at the GGHSAA table is cash and check only.

On event day, 10% of food purchases will be given back to GGHSAA. All monetary contributions raised on event day will benefit our Programs and Activities. Thank you in advance for your generous support.

So stop by and join GGHSAA on St. Patrick’s Day for festive fun. All Argonauts, plus family and friends, are invited to attend. Hope to see YOU at the event!
