Killian was surprised, shocked; he was so many things, for he had to admit that a part of him hadn’t expected it to work. Her hope and believe was stronger than my doubt, he understood, and he smiled, leaning over to kiss Emma because it was the one thing he’d wanted to do since seeing her. And especially now, now that he realized he could go home–that their happiness, their happy ending and a future together, was a real possibility. 

They just had to get out of the Underworld. 

“I… I’m not sure. I have an idea, but I didn’t see much of this place outside what Hades wanted me to see,” he admitted, resting his forehead against Emma’s as he broke apart from their kiss. “I think the tunnels lead up and there may be a way to find a portal, but… He knows what goes in this place. He’s Hades. It’s his place.” 

And any portal would be bound to draw the attention of a god. 

Emma smiled into the kiss, she really missed the small moments. The happy ending that Killian and herself worked so hard to get to, was just one step closer. Getting to Killian was one thing, but getting out was another.  Emma listened to Killian’s voice, telling her what he knew of the place that Hades spent torturing the man. 

“I think we should try...think you can walk on your own?” She smiled, she loved actually having her Killian back in her arms and that true love really did work. Or rather the hope and belief that happy endings could be achieved, even if someone was a villain. Emma slowly got up and waited for Killian to see if he needed any help. “Which way do you think we should go?”

Hearing Tina whisper back, Blaine smiled and pressed his forehead against the nape of her neck.  “You know what’s crazy,” he continued to talk even as she drifted off keeping his voice a notch above a whisper as to not disturb her drifting away, “I’d totally steal you away and plop you into NYU with me if I could.  Selfish as it is.  Brown’s a great school but it’d be great to have you here.”  His feet tangled with hers and the blanket was pulled up snuggly around their shoulders. Once they were warming up, his arm wrapped back around her and he held her gently but with her back pressed tight against his chest.

Rhode Island wasn’t that far away.  They needed to see each other more.  “I’ll visit next time.  Way sooner than this,” he promised as he sank back into sleep along with her.  They had the better part of the morning and afternoon.  Another hour before the alarm went off and woke Kurt up wouldn’t hurt.

Kurt’s ‘awwww’ roused him first, an eye slit open and he looked up to see Kurt’s phone in his hand and an ear to ear grin plastered on his face.  ‘I’ll text it to you both later,’ he wriggled the phone and bent down giving Blaine a kiss to his forehead before promising to return after a shower.

Left alone to wake her up, he nudged the back of her knee gently.  “Hey, sleepyhead.  Wanna wake up?  I think we need to get some lunch before you disappear.  I know the greatest spot.”

Tina smiled, she loved hanging out with Blaine and Kurt. She listened to Blaine’s words as she closed her eyes once more, wondering why today had to suck so much. She chuckled hearing her best friend’s words of placing her in NYU with him so that they could hang out longer. Truth be told, Tina always thought she would end up in New York just like the rest of her friends, but with everything that happened in high school, she wanted to break away and be her own person. She wanted to step out of Rachel’s “shadow” or even stop trying to be someone she wasn’t.

Tina nodded her head and hummed at her friend’s words when he said he’d visit her. She knew that Blaine was good on his word, and that she would probably have to make some room for him and Kurt just in case, once she got back to Rhode Island. Honestly, she would give them both a tour around the cities and go shopping at the best places she knew.

Once Tina heard another voice, she knew Kurt was awake. She slightly groaned under Blaine’s comforting arms around her. Kurt would probably hold that picture to his advantage at one point, and she knew it was probably time to get up sooner or later. As the footsteps started getting further and further, she felt Blaine bump the back of her knee.

Tina grumbled before sighing at him. “You know, I would marry food in a heartbeat if I could. Let’s go eat.” The brunette slightly stretched and waited for her friend to un-spoon her so that she could get ready for the day ahead, knowing that goodbye was getting closer and closer.

Everything hurt, like his chest was on fire from where his half of Emma’s heart had been pushed inside. A part of him was almost desperate to get Regina’s attention to rip it right back out–anything to stop the all-consuming agony he felt, even while he was basically hovering on the brink of consciousness. His hand was pressed against his chest, breathing hard, eyes slammed shut as he’d fallen to his knees, unable to remain standing. 

Distantly, Killian was aware of Emma having shouted out in pain, but it was like a fog over his mind, this haze of pain he was in. Make it stop, make it stop, make it stop was all his brain could manage to think right then. It was like a voice wanted to whisper to him, over and over, that if he took the heart out, it would stop–but that voice sounded an awful lot like Hades, like the god was trying to trick him, even now (somehow). Head bowed, Killian slowly but surely grew used to the feeling… 

And soon enough, after what felt like hours (but in reality had been mere moments), the pain lessened, eventually disappearing entirely. Killian lifted his gaze to Emma, his fingers lowering from his chest, to find her hand, to intertwine with hers. And when he saw that she wasn’t dead, that he wasn’t (any worse), when he realized they were both relatively ‘alright’… 

“It worked?” He smiled, the surprise in his tone perhaps clearer than he realized. “It… It really worked.” 

Emma Swan never thought in a million years that she would have her heart ripped out of her chest and split in half for her true love. If you had told her that she would do such a thing, she’d look at you like you were crazy.

At first, her body did not know what was going on and had to adjust to the feeling of getting her heart taken out and then put back in, but only half of it. The pain was definitely there, but she tried fighting it with all that she had. She needed to have her happy ending.

Once she felt strong enough, she opened her eyes to look over at Killian, waiting to see if he was awake. And in mere moments, he seemed to be confused as to what happened before looking at their hands and then to her. They were both fine...well except for the fact they still needed a way out of this place.

AS she heard his voice, she knew the split worked. Her Killian was alive and talking, and now her family could go home. “Yeah...it worked. But, I suggest we get out of here soon before Hades realizes that you are actually alive.” Emma smiled at him, saying that one word made her happy and she was ready to start their happy beginning once they got the heck of the place. “Any ideas on how we get out?”

Tina’s last day in New York City.  How did the time go by so fast?  Wasn’t it two hours ago when she got in?  Nope.  It’d been days and now she was due to go back to Brown later that evening and Blaine was determined to make her last hours here something to remember.  He had the day packed full until it was time to go to the airport.  Groggily walking through the loft after a way-too-early alarm–Blaine stopped beside the couch and tilted his head.  Could she fit herself any tighter against the back?  Least she looked comfortable?  Listening to her steady breathing made his eyes want to close again.  Heavy limbs pulled him closer.

Breakfast could get started a little later–yeah?   Kurt wouldn’t be ready to wake up for an hour or longer. Woe be to anyone who decided to interrupt his sleep after going an entire night without. Snuggling up to her was easy.  Big Spoon?  Thy name is Blaine Anderson!  The bridge of his nose fit against the back of her head and he didn’t even mind all the hair.  Sort of hard to mind much when this was so comfy and she was so warm.  “I’m going to miss you,” he mumbled quietly.  God, would he.  This was always the worst about reconnecting with the friends who drifted off.  That sad tug in his heart when he knew it was time to say goodbye felt awful. Hours, right?  They had hours. Shutting that thought away–Blaine held her a bit closer and let himself doze off.

It was a spring of the moment, a little surprise trip to go to New York and surprise a few of her friends. Well, needless to say, most of her friends lived in New York and Tina was sometimes a little lonely at Brown. So, what does the brown-haired girl do? Well, she hopped in a plane to travel to New York City, where she knew she would be welcomed with open arms. Blaine and Kurt’s apartment, of course!

It seemed simple enough, show up, unannounced and surprise two of her close friends. Boy, was she in for it! The two boys welcomed her in and let her crash on the couch, but did she mind? No, because it was a comfortable, yet stylish couch, probably Kurt’s doing. 

She spent days with the Hummel-Andersens, enjoying every last second she had in the city with the boys. She let them take her to all the best shopping places as well as try to see a show. 

It was early morning when Tina felt another body close to her, it felt like someone was trying to spoon her while she was getting some beauty rest in. Then, she heard the soft voice and she knew who was. It was non-other than Blaine Anderson, snuggling up to her on the couch, trying to steal her warm heat. She cracked a big smile as she heard his words, because she knew in her heart that she would miss being with Blaine. The last few days she spent with him and in a matter of hours, she would have to go back to Rhode Island. The brown-haired girl pushed away the sad thoughts before feeling Blaine hold her closer. She whispered back to him, just enough so he could hear her before they both dozed off, “I’m going to miss you more Blaine.”

Killian curled his hand tighter around Emma’s when Regina ripped her heart out; he knew the sort of feeling that was, and how it felt like a vice when someone’s hand was around that most precious of organs. But when Emma held that glowing heart, when he saw the purity in it, he exhaled slowly. He knew she was good, a hero in every way… 

His eyes met hers as she asked him that, lips curling at the corners. “I don’t know,” Killian said honestly. Truth was, he was nervous. While he wanted like hell for it to work, what if didn’t? What were their options then? And did that mean anything else–like did it mean their love wasn’t as strong as he hoped it was, if they couldn’t share this heart? His doubts ran rampantly through his mind, Killian unable to push them back or silence them completely. 

But eventually he gave Emma a nod. “It’s now or never, though…” And keeping his gaze on her, gave her hand a squeeze, a form of saying let’s do this. 

And waited for her to push the heart into his chest– before he immediately doubled over in pain. 

To say it felt normal for someone to rip her heart out, would be an understatement. The first time someone tried to do such a thing was Regina’s mother, Cora back when Emma and her mother were trying to fight her off. There was also the fact that Emma had tied Killian up to a tree because she thought he was a liar...but that had majorly changed. Once her heart was out, she squeezed Killian’s hand, scared to look at her heart. What if it had some darkness especially since she had killed Cruella and the fact she became the dark one at one point. But, once it was out, Regina had broke it into two pieces, both halves, both pure red.

The blonde held onto Killian’s hand, she looked at him as he spoke. She knew he was just as nervous as she was, but she couldn't doubt the power of true love. Emma had to believe that the two of them would leave the place together and live in the house Killian had picked for the two of them. When Killian finally gave a nod a squeezed her hand for her to go her job, Emma let go of his hand to hold one half of her heart. Emma looked into his blue eyes one last time before closing her own to push both of her hands into his chest. The blonde waited to see what happened before seeing the man she loved, fall down with pain.

After the countless interruptions from her parents, Henry, and various monsters storming through Storybrooke. Emma Swan and her true love, Killian Jones, had a quiet moment together.

They were on the bed and had kissed each other senseless until they had removed each other’s clothing off. They both wanted to take advantage of the quiet for once and sooner or later the blanket had moved off the bed. 

Despite what Emma might have said, despite what reassurances he might have been given, Killian still felt a little hesitant when they arrived to the others. He’d tried to condemn them all, the darkness flooding his veins and his heart and soul. Sure, he hadn’t done so in the end, but he’d made the actions in the first place– 

Yet he felt Emma’s hand in his, all while Snow and David, while Henry, came up to him–and they didn’t seem to hate him. It helped alleviate the guilt he felt, even now. For even if it was Emma that was his family, even if it was Emma who had saved him in so many ways, it was her parents, her son, that had given him a reason as well. A reason for wanting to change and find that good man inside him again. Hearing Snow say she was glad to see him again, returning Henry’s embrace, David’s– Killian exhaled a sigh of relief, like a weight of that guilt had been lifted. 

He looked to Regina when Emma spoke, when she turned her attention to asking the other woman that question. This whole thing–while he hoped like hell it would work–was still setting him on edge, making him a little nervous. He was concerned, and his hand held Emma’s, fingers curling tighter in their grip upon it. 

Emma held onto Killian’s hand throughout everyone coming up and greeting the man she loved. To think that their first meeting was not the most conventional, meaning her tying him onto a tree and her parents and Henry weren’t keen on him either. But, Emma saw the good in him and they eventually fell for each other, and here they were, as a family, saving her true love.
