Watches are some of the most versatile items in all of men's fashion. Different straps, faces, displays, and even functions ensure that no two designs are the same. Nevertheless, there are a few popular and practical looks that have become common staples over the years. Just think about what a large proportion of men's watches come with metallic chain link bands, or how popular chronograph displays have become regardless of the style of the watches they're set in.

I would never suggest that features like these have gone out of style, because at this point it appears as if they may never do so. At the same time, however, the last year or so has shown us that the men's watch market may not be as firmly set in stone as we might have suspected. A few popular styles, both old and new, have begun to emerge in a major way, calling emphasis to the sheer diversity of these accessories.

Perhaps the largest trend we've seen coming on strong in the past year or two is the implementation of lighter and, in many cases, more casual watch straps. For metal straps, this is exemplified in the spread and popularity of the milanese loop (which is essentially a mesh band). GQ described these bands by suggesting that lately the manufacturing of such styles has "travelled far and wide" (past their Milanese roots), and the market reflects this fact. These delicate but powerful bands are everywhere these days, offering a look that is simultaneously cheaper and more elegant than that of the classic chain-link band. In leather, meanwhile, a similar movement has taken place, though it's less defined. Simply put, many watch designers are crafting their leather bands in thinner, less intricate designs for a more affordable, casual-but-cool look.

Sticking with the idea of increasingly casual watches that nevertheless sacrifice nothing in terms of style, there's also been a noticeable influx of colour on the market of late. Lyst's page of men's watches displays styles from a number of different brands and designers, and one of the few threads that seems to link just about all the selections together is colour. Both in light, nylon straps, on watch faces of all kinds, and even in leather and alternative material bands, there's simply a huge range of colours that go beyond standard various on black, brown, silver, and grey. This trend, perhaps more than any other, is contributing to the increased variety in men's watches.

Somewhat more subtle than the previously discussed trends is the apparent return of the unembellished analogue display. While the aforementioned chronograph style is technically analogue in nature (meaning it has a watch hand displaying the time, rather than simply a digital display), the unembellished analogue look is a simpler, more minimalistic design, free of the clutter of the chronograph's multipurpose display.

These are just a few of my favorite Komono watches. It can sometimes be hard to find the right watch for the right occasion, and this list includes watches for all occasions, from herringbone strap watches to more stylish, gentle, suit-worthy time pieces.

Time is a mind-blowing phenomenon. Over the years, it is divided many great men. Newton claimed it to be absolute and Albert Einstein proved it to be relative. To be completely honest, in terms of science, we don’t know what to believe. Something we do know however, is that in whatever way you choose to spend your time, you should look amazing in keeping track of it. There is a saying that when someone gives you a watch, you have to give him a coin in return. And that is why watches are so special – because they understand the true meaning of relationships, you can only have more for yourself by giving.

So, let’s get to the watches themselves. There are 2 types of watches. Those who are made for show off and momentary impression and those who are made to echo through time. Corniche watches are precisely the second type. A perfect design – combining new and trending with old and classic. The design –  clean, memorable and mesmerizing, probably led by the moto of Don Draper – “Make it simple but significant”.
