About my otp
So I just feel like I need to talk about this, and also I want to talk about this, and it is the reason why I ship this ship and how I ship it. This also applies to most of my other ships too.
I am fully aware that Saga x Saori is a controversial ship and why it is soo controversial, and thatās one of the reasons I want to talk about my otp.
The first thing I want to express, and itās hard to me to express this enough, I Do Not Ship them In Cannon Time, I only ship those two Post Cannon And AU when the characters are appropriately aged, Saori aged up and Saga aged down when necessary, in fact looking at my tags I donāt have One single post about Saga and Saori relationship in cannon time that is tagged as Saga x Saori, all my posts about cannon time do not have a Saga x Saori tag.
The second thing I need to say is that even before shipping this ship I could never see Saori being thirteen years old, my personal headcanon is, and have always been, that she have the same age as Julian Solo, being at least fifteen or sixteen at the beginning of the series and around seventeen at the end of the series.
This age thing also applies in most of the ships that I have.
Whit that explained I will go over to why I Ship this two characters, the first and quick reason is that itās make sense, more than other ships of this other two characters have.
The long reason have more steps to explain.
Saga and Saori have some of the most intense relationship in the series, I mean they literally die in each otherās arms and every single interaction they have is just too revealing of something very important to the plot.
Im fact Saga and Saori donāt have that much interaction in the series, but not only all of this interactions served to move forward the plot in a very impactful way, and they are still doing that to this day.
They actually make a lot of sense as a couple when you look at it.
Soo what happens is that the way they interact with each other trough the series really is borderline romantic at many times, in fact some time ago when I started to write fanfiction in this fandom, even before I shipped those two, I had a problem writing my fic focusing in Saori trying to discover about Sagaās past because it felt like a ship fic and it wasnāt a ship fic.
Also there is the scene in Hades arc when Saga sees Saori covered in light, just before she ask him to kill her, that I could never, wanting to ship them or not, do not describe in text in a way that donāt sound romantic.
Plus although I love fics that Ship Saga whit other characters, even ocs, it always felt out of character to me seeing Saga falling in love with someone, and sometimes even giving up being a saint because of love, for me it just donāt feel like him.
Soo in short, trying to describe how impactful Sagaās death would be to Saori, and how fixed Saga seen to be whit the figure of Athena makes very difficult for me to not put them as a Ship.
They look good together.
Now that is just for the fanart, they designs just compliment the other so well, and their contrasting styles and color schemes of these two make for some of the prettiest fanart, just by color palette alone, and again the way they interact in canon just serve to compliment this too.
Their couple dynamics are just too good.
Another thing that compliment a ship for me is just how would the characters work as a couple, and Saga and Saori, wow, they just work with two of my favorite tropes and ship dynamics because of their history together.
Seriously those two are just to perfect for angst, hurt comfort, forbidden love, enemies to lovers, slow burn, and whit a sprinkle of fluffy to make everything even more perfect, they are basically like the beauty and the beast of Saint Seiya universe.
PS: Yeah thereās also this part about Athena being reincarnated again and again and this just one of her incarnations, and to be honest this is just a quick summary of the ship, since if I go really deep I actually ship Athena whit the Gemini Saint in general, but I put as Saga and Saori because they are my favorite incarnation of them in general.
