As part of @yyh-revival event for 2026, I give you one of my newest digital drawings of Rose Wolf (Kurama x Kota)!
Haunted by his past actions, Kurama feels like he doesn't deserve the love that Kota gives him. Despite them having different lifestyles as demons, Ginko Okami (Kota) lived as a warrior princess who spared Youko Kurama on a failed heist.
He tells Kota about his actions as Youko and how much it has haunted him despite being Shuichi Minamino. He even tells her about his past love, Maya Kitajima and how he turned her feelings away.
Kota, being a rather kindhearted and loyal demon that she is, informs Kurama: "Your past doesn't define who you are. What you do now, is what matters. I have seen you have change, even though we only ran into each other once as Ginko and Youko. My grandfather says that anyone can change for the better, you have Kurama."

Who do you like better, Kurama or Yoko?
OH MY GOD, I love both of them! Why do you have to make me choose?! 😭
In all seriousness though, I definitely like Kurama better. In my defense, I only watched about 8 episodes of YYH, and I was already obsessing over him before I even got to see him properly.
My obsession was so intense that I accidentally found out about Yoko earlier than I was supposed to. At first, I actually had a hard time liking him because I thought he looked kind of weird, but I’m sure my opinion will change once I get to see him properly soon :3
You know the sad part of Yu Yu Hakusho still not having an anime remake is that we KNOW how modern Yu Yu Hakusho looks like from the 2018 OVA and how CONSISTENT the artstyle still is with the same Japanese or English voice actors. Meanwhile other anime like Ranma 1/2 and Magic Knights Rayearth are getting new animations but the characters look so different.
Why can't we have YYH remake when we know we can have this?

We probably owe this consistency to the continued new illustrations the merchandise industry have for Yu Yu Hakusho. We know a remake is possible and will be brilliant if given a chance. Like come on. Yusuke won't look like a washed up colorless guy the way Ranma or Hikaru lost their red colors.
