isabel conklin, or better known as belly to her friends and family, grew up spending her summers in cousins. she'd spend nine months out of the year counting down to the three glorious summer months where she'd be surrounded by all of her favorite people. following the death of susannah fisher, a maternal figure for her, she didn't handle the news well. although some time has passed she still grapples with that pain while navigating tumultuous relationships with her friends -- namely so, susannah's boys.

belly still has all of her memories from her past life. she misses cousins dearly, but has decided to try and make the most of london. she decided to apply to university, not so she could study but so she could play volleyball. she chose a major that seemed the easiest to get by ... she's not exactly super smart.

——- Roman wasn’t a early bird -- since he finished school and took on his family business back in hemlock grove , he still struggled to wake . sleeping in was nice , but he never seemed to have a day off -- even here in london . he worked in rel-estate now , which was bittersweet . as he was walking his tired ass somewhere , last he expected was someone to speak to him . green eyes sleeply looking to the woman before giving a little nod . ❝ yeah , yeah -- come with me to the cafe i’m going to . they might just be perfect for you , ❞ he said sheepishly giving a gesture to follow with his head , just moving towards the cafe , really needing his morning coffee to function better himself .
in most cases, accompanying a stranger to a cafe would be something belly strayed from. but upon ending up in london, weirder things could happened and the other seemed friendly enough. "perfect, thank you." she smiled, falling into step next to the brunette. having someone to lead her right to her destination was an added bonus as well. this way she didn't have to flounder around london trying to find her way. "early morning for you?" she asked, voice soft as she noted his tired eyes.
"KIARA, HUH? THAT'S A PRETTY BADASS NAME. i like it." she nodded a little bit, finding herself grinning, because.. yes, perhaps this was really what she needed. to get out here? to feel like herself again? maybe that was it and right now, she knew that she couldn't be more lucky for that. she had been one of the ones who had lived and... no, she could have never been more grateful for that. or rather.. well, it wasn't as if she felt that good about it, because it had meant that her friends had been hurt. "yeah, you never know what you can handle until you do, right? been there once or twice myself and.. yeah, it's messed up. and i hope not, kid. you deserve better." even if she didn't know the other? she could already tell that was the cause, that was for sure. "what do you think? would you be more down for an easy jog to start with?" @gcldcrcssings
there was a new sense of pride that mixed into her already cheesy grin. she'd never really done much to live a badass life here in london. she'd always craved the thrill of adventure. but aside from visiting all of the hole in the wall places london had to offer, it hardly felt like a real adventure. one that was filled with new territories and life and death stakes. "yeah, lifes pretty tame for me." she laughed, giving the other a little shrug. the occasional bird saving or skateboard mishap were the most trouble that ever came her way. "i think an easy jog to start would be best. work my endurance up first, right?" she took a breath before nodding at jeannie, her walk turning into a light jog. "do you run like every day?" @lcvenderhcze
mallory believed that london was all she had ever known. she had no idea that her memories had been taken from her and that this life... was nothing more than a huge lie. she smiled politely at the other. "something sweet and sugary? sounds right up my street." the woman mused with a chuckle. "okay but... serious question." mallory raised her brow playfully. "waffles or pancakes? or you thinking something else?" she questioned, cocking her head in interest. @gcldcrcssings
finding a friendly face had become belly's go to since finding herself in such unfamiliar territory. everyone she'd manage to stumble across the last couple of people had been nothing but kind and belly was thankful for it. "hmm," a finger tapped to her jaw as she weighed out the options. "pancakes, definitely pancakes." she mi\used thinking of her yearly birthday morning transition. "but crepes also fall pretty high on that list."
Nick couldn't blame her reaction, the raised brows and sweeping eyes as she took in the scene that had played out just moments before her approach. If the roles had been reversed and it been him who had stumbled upon her covered in ink he honestly wasn't sure if he could have held it together so gracefully. The thought of it raised the corner of his lips in a playful smirk that was quickly replaced as his lips formed into a circle to let out a sigh of relief. "Thanks. Don't know what I would have done if you hadn't come along." Likely Nick would have been stuck in shock until jolted out by some barista or patron discovering his mess only to be left more embarrassed than he initially was. Heat crept up his neck, wrapping its scarlet hue around his cheeks. "I really don't even know. I was trying to ink my pen and one thing led to another." He gestured timidly to the inky table. Reaching out for the napkins offered to him, he took care not to get any ink on her hands as he retrieved them. "Can I get you a tea or something for the help?" Nick offered, attempting to wipe the cobalt from his skin.
"oh well i'm sure someone would have helped you," she assured the other, tossing an ink soaked napkin into the growing pile. she was quite clumsy herself, so there was no judgement coming from the brunette girl. instead, a smile tugged at her lips. "it happens to the best of us. it could have been worse, it could have been red ink." ever the optimist, trying to make light of any situation. "oh you don't have to — really," she insisted. "but i could use a table to sit at if you don't mind sharing once we clean it up." she offered, looking at the busy cafe around them. @desastreorcalamite

chad had been slowly getting used to his life here, even if he was constantly looking over his shoulder for the next ghostface. he was in his own heard when he ehard the others voice and gave her a small smile "sadly, I do not know of the best one." chad looked into her eyes and cleared his throat "maybe check out Covent Garden?"
"covent garden, got it." she smiled, grateful that she had a destination in mind and wasn't just wandering around anymore. she laughed, "do you think you could point me in the right direction?" realizing that a name did not much for her if she didn't at least know what direction to head in. @writerwinter
"THINK SO TOO. YOU GOT ME ADDICTED ON THOSE THINGS. THEY'RE... HM, EASY WAY TO RELAX AFTER AN IMPORTANT EXAM. sour patch, eh? who would have thought? mom would have killed me if she had found out that i had this much of a sweet tooth." it had been a long time since he had found himself able to talk about susannah without wanting to cry and right now, he supposed that it was one of those times. after all, he knew just how much belly had also loved her, right? "come on. and.. volleyball still, eh? didn't know you still played. still any good? i bet i could beat you, though." it seemed forever ago that he had joined her team back in cousins - that they had won.. together. holding her and seeing her laugh had never felt as good as it had back then. with one exception or two. should he have been this close to her? he didn't think so and yet, he could never help it. same as he could never help the fact that he wanted to be by her side. right? "i am, yeah. just started pre-med. you?" @gcldcrcssings
he’d told her back then she had an affect on people. she didn’t believe that to be true when he first told her that, but maybe he’d been right. though sour patch kids were hardly a big feat. “i think she’d be okay with it.” she nudged him whilst they walked alongside one another. her heart ached for susannah and their summers in cousins. she wasn’t her mom, but she was her susannah and despite everything that happened with the boys, belly would always be her special girl. everything felt like such a lifetime ago but also as if it was only yesterday. her smile widened as she glanced down at her bag. “yep, still playing. for the university now officially” she laughed. “i’d like to see you try.” the memories of tournament were bittersweet. it was the day conrad asked her to the deb ball and the day jeremiah had kissed her on his car. “pre med,” she mused, happy he’d been fulfilling the dream he’d spoken to her about all those years ago. “that’s amazing, conrad. i’m proud of you. i actually just transferred into their social work program. i’m going to work alongside their women’s shelter.” @lcvenderhcze
"There's a little cafe just around the corner that has spectacular pastries. I haven't really had much else there, but if you're looking for sweet and sugary that might be a good place to start," Jane said in response to the stranger's question. "Would it be wrong of me to make the assumption that you aren't from here?" She raised a brow, studying the younger woman. Jane was, by nature, a very social being. She liked to learn about others and hear about their experiences. "If that's the case, welcome." @gcldcrcssings
was she really that transparent ? “uh, yeah actually. thank you!” she smiled softly. “is that normal ? are most people not from around here ?” she couldn’t help but ask, still not fully grasping the constructs of her reality. it’d been a week since she got here and while she’d come to terms with being here, it didn’t mean she loved it. being so far away from her family put an all too familiar ache in her chest. “im belly by the way,” she paused for a moment, “ or — uh, isabel conklin. some people just call me belly. but it’s nice to meet you.”
"YEAH, YOU. what do you say? up for a run?" jeannie wanted nothinng more than to... get her mind out of everything that was going on recently. she didn't see that changing anytime soon and she didn't think that it ever would -- because.. damn it if she wasn't exhasuted. damn it if she didn't feel like everything that was going on recently was only making things worse. that it was only making it seem as if there was going to be a repeat of last time and no, she very, very much did not want that, that was for sure. right? not when she had lost all of her friends the last time it had happened. "and don't worry, kid. i promise to take it as easy on you as i can? and besides, you never know if you're a runner, until you really have to be a runner. trust me, i could offer a few tips, too ?" she grinned a little bit, extending a hand. "jeannie lewis. you?" @gcldcrcssings
“nice to meet you. i’m kiara carrera.” she returned the grin and handshake, thankful for the company and the distraction. minutes ago, kiara had been dreading running. feeling like she’d get only minutes into it before actually bailing. but now, with the help of jeannie lewis, maybe running would actually help ease her mind for a moment. “i think if i was in a life or death situation, i could probably handle some shit.” maybe because she had. “but, lets just say i hope i never find myself there.” pressing up and down onto her toes, kiara remembered the way her old gym coaches used to have them prepare for their running tests. “so what.. are we starting off with a steady sprint or more like an easy jog?” she was still slightly easing up to the idea of running, but she also wasn’t going to backdown from any challenge.
"Okay," Nick's lips parted for an explanation that escaped him. How exactly did one explain looking like a smurf because you were trying to replace the ink in your pen without looking like a complete twat? "I swear I can explain. It's some kind of freak accident." He lifted his hands in the air as if it would somehow help the situation. "I didn't even know pens could cause this sort of mess. How am I going to get this cleaned up before I leave?" As much as the ink was covering Nick, it had also managed to coat the entirety of the cafe table as well as splatter on the floor and chair. It was a mess. "I know it's a lot, but can you help?"
“woah!” belly’s eyebrows raised, eyes trailing over the inky mess that coated the other and the space around him. belly hadn’t spent too much time at the cafe since waking up in london, but the previous two days it had severely lacked this sort of commotion. “let me grab some paper towels. hold on.” she looked around for a clean space to set her things down to assist the other. she wasn’t sure how easily ink would come out of her white tote bag but she certainly wasn’t going to risk it. belly didn’t think twice about helping him. maybe that was because she didn’t really want to study, but today she’d say it was because she was a good person. “how did this even happen?” she came back to the table with two handfuls of napkins, offering him a couple for his own hands before beginning to work on wiping up the table.

"HI." he hadn't been expecting her to hug him. in fact, he hated that.. these days? he didn't even know how he was supposed to act around her. he hated that it seemed as if their relationship had been shattered and.. no, he didn't think that would be changing anytime soon. "it's so good to see you. it really is. you look.. incredible. i mean, you always look incredible, but.. it's just been so long." and for a moment, he grinned from ear to ear, scratching the back of his neck. was he supposed to.. not be happy as happy as he was to see her? he didn't know but right now, of course he was. "yeah, i know. still got a pack or two of sour patch in my car. just in case i ever.. well, ran into you. no, i'm kidding - those things are addictive." and he liked them because they reminded him of her and no, he didn't see that changing anytime soon. "absolutely can take you there. i'm only supposed to be at school in like.. an hour and a half so that works perfectly." he'd never pass up the chance to spend time with her. @gcldcrcssings
all this time had passed and conrad still had that charm that caused her cheeks to redden. his compliments had always carried an unspoken weight. she knew they shouldn’t — she knew that she didn’t deserve them, but in this moment, she couldn’t really bring herself to care. “they’re absolutely the best. you know, i think they taste even better here than back home.” the word home left a bitter taste in her mouth the minute she spoke it, smile faltering. maybe soon she’d accept that this was her new home. she’d have to give it more than a week. he seemed adjusted here — happy even. part of her wondered if he’d hoped he’d never see her again. if this was meant to be a fresh start. “lead the way then, connie.” she pulled the volleyball bag she was toting close to her side. clearly the universe had other plans for them, right ? “so you’re enrolled in university here ?” she prodded, wondering if maybe she’d ever run into him on campus now that she was also a student.
JEANNIE WAS RESTLESS. and right now, she didn't believe that would be changing anytime soon, because.. how could it, she wondered? it seemed as if everyone who wore a badge in town was restless these days and after everything that she had seen back home? after losing people in the way that she had? she knew very well that she was certainly included in that list, for sure. right? and so - she had started doing the one thing that she did whenever she could not quiet her thoughts - she went out for a run throughout the park and.. well, it seemed as if it was working. "holy shit. now there's a way to make yourself forget all the shit that troubles you," she laughed, attempting to catch her breath, at the same time that she looked over at the other. "want to join me? promise that i will go easy on you. or.. eh, as much as i can?" @walstarterblog
simply put, kiara’s brain was a mess. the last week or so her brain had been outright flooded of a life she couldn’t remember. the thoughts would infiltrate her brain at the most inconvenient times, leaving the curly haired brunette to spiral trying to figure out what they meant. if they were even real? all her usual brain quieting tactics were doing her a major disservice, leaving her no option — time for a run. never in a million years would kiara carrera believe you if you told her she was going for a jog. athletic prowess was not exactly her specialty. but advice from a bar patron last night had her thinking these times called for desperate measures. so here she was ... on a run. “who me?” she turned to look behind herself as she began to secure her unruly hair up into a bun. “im not sure you want to partner up with me — running isnt really my forte.” she admitted with a shrug. “but i can try my best to keep up, i could probably use the push.”
CONRAD HAD NEVER BELIEVED THAT.. HE WOULD SEE HER AGAIN. jeremiah was here, of course, and even if he had been keeping his distance from his brother - he knew that he was alright. after all, that was all just who jere was, was it not? he knew how to get through life in a better way than conrad ever had. he made it all seem so easy and yes, sometimes.. he was so jealous of his brother and that easiness that he didn't know what he was supposed to do with any of that. of course that he did not. right? and yet, when he heard her voice - he turned around almost immediately, frozen in spot. could anyone blame him for not knowing what to do? right now, he didn't think that anyone could have. "i.. i suppose that i do know a few good places or two. still with your love for all things sweet, eh?" should he hug her? right now, he didn't know if he was supposed to, that was for sure. "it's.. it's good to see you, bells. MORE THAN YOU COULD POSSIBLY KNOW." it always would be. right? @gcldcrcssings
a familiar face is exactly the opposite of what belly expected. how was it that he was here? truth be told, the brunette was unsure she’d ever see him again. that thought alone had weighed on her pretty heavily. the fisher boys had always been important to her. a life without them felt almost incomplete. “conrad!” throwing her arms around him was practically second nature. she didn’t think anything of it — she didn’t think at all. conrad was here, which meant she wasn’t all alone. “oh you know me … sugar pretty much runs through my veins.” stepping back, she smoothed the fabric of her shirt down, smiling widely at the nickname. “it’s really good to see you too,” a pause, “do you have time to actually eat breakfast or only time to point me in the right direction?” @lcvenderhcze
every day since waking up in london had come with it's own bout of confusion. the brunette longed for home, for her summers in cousins — but she was here, and not there. london had a nice ring to it, there were plenty of sights to see, new people to meet. if she was going to be stuck here indefinitely, she was going to make the most of it. which is how she found herself roaming the streets. "you wouldn't happen to know where a girl could find the best breakfast around here?" she'd never been much of a morning person, at least until she'd had something to eat. "preferably somewhere i can get something sweet and sugary?"
welcome to london, KIARA CARRERA! did anyone ever tell you that you look just like MADISON BAILEY? well, no matter, we hear that you are 24 and working as a/an BARTENDER. we also hear that you currently HAVE SOME OF your memories from THE OUTER BANKS and have a tendency to be PASSIONATE as well as STUBBORN.
𝚜𝚞𝚙𝚎𝚛 𝚑𝚘𝚝 𝚑𝚒𝚙𝚙𝚒𝚎 𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚌𝚔 — her canon background.
canon wise, kiara carrera is from the outer banks. it's there that she is a kook, but still chooses to slum it with the pogues. not only does she consider herself one, but anyone who knows her around the island knows she is a pogue despite her parent's address. she goes on the treasure hunt of a lifetime with her best friends and fellow pogues. through being kidnapped, plane crashes, being stranded on islands, jumping of shipliners — this kiara doesn't remember MOST OF IT.
𝚜𝚞𝚙𝚎𝚛 𝚑𝚘𝚝 𝚑𝚒𝚙𝚙𝚒𝚎 𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚌𝚔— her london background.
as far as this kiara knows, she's grown up in london for most of her life. she still doesn't have a great relatiionship with her parents here ... mainly complaining that they don't get her. this has led to her to be sort of the black sheep of her family. she works down at the local bar, something her parents absolutely hate. she's a super big environmentalist, so she is often making choices that impact the world in a better way. this is the main reason she doesn't have most of her memories because she refuses to drink bottled water. "plastic is killing the environment." however, she has started boiling her water after reading a recent study about the positive effects of boiling your water has on your health -- which has resulted in her getting some of her season one memories back.
𝚜𝚞𝚙𝚎𝚛 𝚑𝚘𝚝 𝚑𝚒𝚙𝚙𝚒𝚎 𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚌𝚔 — her current headcanons.
super sarcastic and to the point. her face tends to give everything she's thinking away.
she believes that most people deserve a fighting chance and will be the first person to stick up for a friend in need.
she is the friend who rescues baby birds and befriends any animals she happens to stumble across.
