Ranted to a close friend about people using Al to make kpop freebies (which are like free gifts fans personally make and give out on the concert day itself to other fans) and how sometimes they would generate the idea, how the freebie will look like, and the promotion graphic straight from Al itself without any creative input in the whole thing

Tbh all I got out of the HR claude fiasco is that… the fandom likes reading slop

#ofc AI use is bad and disingenuous to fandom creativity as a whole #but atsm… I think readers need to practice reflexivity and critical reading skills when it comes to reading fanfic #when reading ask yourself if the author is saying what they want to say through the story #or is your mind compensating for the half-boiled metaphors and analogies that lead to nowhere #by filling in the blanks that AI leaves behind in the fic #or are you breezing through a story and thoughtlessly consuming it like content #just so you can keep up with the discussion of the latest hot fic in your fandom #instead of… yknow… appreciating the fic on its own?#i feel like the phenomenon of ‘being seen talking about the thing is better than authoring the thing itself’#prevalent in fandom these days is partly to blame here #hyping up slop begets slop yo
