Greg and his friend Stan had decided to get a two bedroom apartment together and share in the expenses. It was a great idea at first, because both had good paying jobs. Either one could carry the whole apartment on their own if need be. Things were going well for eight months, till Stan had been laid off from his Jon. This left Greg supporting the whole apartment on his income. Stan did help out with what he had save up, buy that soon ran out.
It was several months later and Stan still hadn't found a new job yet. Greg noticed he was lazy around the apartment. He started to leave a mess in the living room and kitchen and not clean up behind himself. Greg would have to come in from work and clean up the place. He was trying to be patient with his friend, but it was getting to be a pain in the neck for him.
One day, Greg came in from a stressful day at work to find the apartment a mess, and Stan just playing video games on the game system. He was highly pissed. "Something got to be done about you, Stan. I work all day and come home to this!" He screamed at him. "Can't you at least keep the place clean if you aren't at a job working?!" Greg stormed off and begin cleaning up the mess. While he was cleaning he looked over at Stan. "I got a job for you tomorrow." He told him while continuing to clean; Stan kept on playing his game ignoring him.
The next morning, Stan awoke to being dragged out of his bed by Greg. "What gives, bro? What was that for!?" He asked to an irate look on Greg's face.
"Like I said, I have a job for you today." Greg spoke, holding a strange device in his hand. He pressed a button, and there was a quick flash. Where Stan was once on the floor, he was now a pair of clean white socks. "Since you can't find a job yet. I found one for you. You get to keep my feet warm and comfortable while I work." He spoke, putting on the pair of white socks.
Stan was disgusted as he felt Greg's feet enter him and fill him up. The thought that his friend would casually wear him as socks angered him. He mentally yelled but saw Greg couldn't hear a single thought. Yes, he had trouble finding a new job, but he was trying. Not finding employment bothered him, so that was part of the reason he had the apartment in a mess. But he soon realized the error in that thinking as he was shoved into a foul-smelling pair of boots. He recognized them as the work boots Greg had been using for at least three years now. The insoles were so blackened, they reeked of constant foot stench. In fact, the entire insides of the boots reeked of the odor. There was no escape or even chance of fresh air as the boots were secured on feet. The walking part made it all the worst. The consistency of step after step in his boot prison was driving him insane. He was longer cursed with angry words but was begging for Greg to set him free. He would do better from now on.
Greg saw the increased level of comfort from living socks. He should have done this sooner, he thought. He would see how well Stan performed after a ten hour work day on the construction site. He thought of how sweaty his feet get in one day normally. The thought that Stan was going to experience this actually amused him. But this was his own fault for being his pair of socks.
As the work day carried on, Stan saw that Greg's feet began to become sweaty. All the accumulated sweat began to soak his sock bodies. The foot odor inside the boots Beaman to escalate even more as he began to smell like rank foot odor. Now he truly had no escape every part of himself that was deep in the boots reeked of Greg's foul foot odor. He wanted no more part off this torment, but powerless to change his situation.
At the end of the work day, Greg got home. He first sniffed his boot when he took them off. He found his own boot odor so offensive. The thought that Stan was trapped in their while he worked all day really did amuse him. He leaned down to sniff his sock and found it also smelled foul and was completely soaked with his sweat. He removed both socks. He was amazed his feet were completely dry and didn't smell one bit. It was only his socks that smelled horrible. This fact suddenly gave him a brilliant idea that would benefit both of them.
Greg grabbed his transformation device and flashed his socks. Stan was instantly standing where the socks were. But he still reeked of Greg's foot odor. "That was the most horrible experience I ever had to endure. Your feet tormented me all day." Stan complained and sniffed himself. "Not to mention, I still smell like your rank feet and boots." Stan only saw Greg smiling at that truth.
"I actually have two options for you. My feet was completely dry when I removed you and they didn't smell. You actually absorbed all my foot odor. " Greg laughed to a disgusted look on Stan's face. "You can either move out and find a new place to live or volunteer to be my socks whenever I say so. If you choose the second option, you won't have to pay bills or rent. Just you being useful to my feet will be enough." Greg presented his two options with a smile. He knew full well which he would choose, because he had no other real choice given his financial situation.
Stan knew Greg had him cornered. He didn't have the funds to just move out nor the job. He needed a place to stay. If he stayed, he would have to agree to be Greg's socks whenever he wanted it. "You win, I am your socks whenever you desire." He spoke defeatedily
This was the life that now both roommates lived. Stan was Greg's special pair of socks, and Greg had a way to keep his feet from smelling badly. And Stan had a place to live rent free, all it cost him was to live serving his roommates feet.
