I was thinking about Rumor and I was thinking

I actually think Haiyi didn't really mean to fall in love with Muxin???

Haiyi is the kind of person who has a lot of admirers and she likes casual dates, but she doesn't usually persue someone, something like that

but she always liked Muxin - he helped her reunite with her sisters, after all! - but also because he was nice and kind of a nerd and maybe a bit handsome but it was nothing she was particularly looking for or anything

she just likes teasing him because she's just That Way(TM) but she also notices how cute and shy he really is despite his kinda "cool teen scientist" demeanor but as they get to know each other and Muxin becomes a mainstay not just at their home but in their lives, becoming good friends and staying with her and her family regardless of her antics or their troubles or their mysteries....she notices she doesn't go on dates as often and she spends more time waiting to ambush him in the library and she doodles his dorkier expressions in her notebooks

and maybe when she play-flirts with him it's suddenly not as jokey anymore and maybe she hangs out at the bottom of their private pool and she sighs a bit because heck this wasn't supposed to happen what has she done and she's not even human
