Just a bit from one of my fav books of the moment, A darker shade of magic (book 1). I’m trying some new stuff, decided to do this one with a more stylised approach. Always thought ADSOM would make a great animated series

Jester: She’s got wings that are so magical.

Nott: She’s pretty cool though, she’s cool. She likes flowers.

Twiggy: I like flowers!

Deborah: And I dig into the back of my hair into, like, a rat’s nest, 

and I pull out a really old, like, wilted, dying flower.

Twiggy: See!!

Jester: Oh, see Yasha will love that ‘cause it’s kind of dried like-

Sam: I will do the same

Nott, shyly: I also put flowers in my hair sometimes.

Jester, crestfallen: That’s really cool…

Twiggy: Like best friends!

Nott: Wel- wai- I- I don’t- I mean, I don’t want to- I-

Jester, visibly upset: No, it’s fine, [choking up] you guys can be best friends-

Nott: Nonono!- I think she meant all of us! I think she meant all of us-

Jester: Okay…

Nott: It’s okay, you can be-

Deborah: I put the- we put the flowers behind her ears.

Deborah: They’re really old and wilted, but-

Jester, softly: Thanks you guys.
