            verily ,     he’d  had  no  idea  that  atem  had  gone  to  so  much    𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐄     behind  the  scenes ,     but  he  ought  to  have  expected  as  much ,     given  his  beloved’s    𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒌  𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒅     of  pulling  out  every  stop  to  leave  yuugi’s  heart  overflowing  with  gratitude ,     with  affection ,     with    𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠     at  the  notion  that  he’s  managed  to  end  up  as    𝗼𝗻𝗲  𝗼𝗳  𝘁𝗵𝗲  𝗹𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘆  𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀     who’d  found  their    𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘     so  early  in  his  life . 

            doll -  wide  eyes  grow    𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒚  𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒓     as  he  beholds  everything  so    𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑦  𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑑    for  his  indulgence .     despite  the  beautifully  plated  meal  and  the    𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗬  𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗘𝗧𝗦     laid  out  before  him ,    bright  violets     immediately  find  the  other  man’s  face ,    warm  with  devotion ,    and  wetness  wells  in  the    𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲  𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐤  𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬     of  heavily  lined  eyes  .

             “     what’s  all  this  .ᐣ.ᐣ     ”     he  asks ,     despite  the    𝑜𝑏𝑣𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠     of  the  answer .     his  voice  warbles  with  emotion ,     shoulder  bag  slipping  easily  down  a    lithely  toned  arm  ,     instantaneously  forgotten  the  moment  he  sets  it  aside  on  the  nearest  surface .     he  comes  nearer  to  inspect  everything  with  the    𝐔𝐓𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐓  𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐄  ,     golden  light  all  but  emanating  from  his  core ,     before  his  attention  once  again  turns  to    𝒉𝒊𝒔  𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅  ,     fixed  on  him  like  a  scrap  of  metal  to  a    𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥  𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐭  .

            at  once ,     yuugi  wraps  his  arms  around  his    other  half  ,     nuzzling  into  the  junction  of  his  neck  and  shoulder  and  breathing  in  his    𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕  𝒃𝒖𝒕  𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒄𝒚     scent .    “     you  put  this  all  together  for  me  .ᐣ.ᐣ     gods , it  must  have  taken  you     𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓     [     .  .  .     ]     ”     a  breathless  laugh  tumbles  past  his  lips ,     heart  fluttering  anew  at  a  pace  that  rivals  a   hummingbird’s  wings .    “     this  all  looks  so  lovely  ,     𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓  𝒎𝒆  ,     thank  you  .     but  you  have  to  know  you’ve  already  given  me  the     𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭  𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭  𝐨𝐟  𝐚𝐥𝐥  ,     just  by  being  here  with  me  ,     and  being  in  my  life  .     ”
