Nodding, Elijah opened the container. “Honestly, everyone wants to hate on cafeteria food but I can’t complain.”
The scent of beef stew filled the air around them, and Elijah decided to offer some over to Gabe, who’d likely been pouring over his books all day. Pushing the container forward and grabbing one of the spoons he kept in his “today I’m stealing from the Dining Hall” bag. The drawstring bag was frequently used by the tall brunette to snag cups and utensils as needed, today was a bowl and 4 of each utensil.Â
Gabriel couldn’t help but nod at Elijah’s words. He knew very well how the whole deal with school kids hating on cafeteria food went, he’d been watching it all his life. In truth he’d always been envious of those who could buy their own lunch. He didn’t have lunch before he started earning his own money at the age of sixteen. Gabriel shook his head. “Not here begging for food, go ahead- If I get hungry I’ll go pick up something myself.” Gabe gave a grateful smile to Elijah, before he more or less just inhailed the smell. He didn’t like to feel like a charity purpose, so he would always decline the offer of food. “So why are you here? I rarely see you outside the house.”
