the main verse for rhaenys will operate in the series’ current timeline. when the conquerors return to dorne, meraxes is felled by a scorpion to the eye and rhaenys herself is mortally wounded, but not killed. after experiencing a period of torture at the hands of the ullers, she escapes and exiles herself across the narrow sea, ashamed by her defeat and distraught over the loss of her dragon.
she looks towards the red priests of asshai to hone her ability as a sorceress (present through her valyrian blood, but undeveloped and neglected unlike that of her elder sister visenya’s) to extend her lifespan, and later utilizes her skills in battle to become a sellsword throughout all of essos. after daenerys awakens the dragons, rhaenys feels pulled by their innate magic and as a result, reunites with her sister, who has been resurrected by sorcery, before the two conquerors go in search of their descendant to assist her in the fight for her rightful claim over the iron throne.
