diagnosis - schizoid personality disorder, languid type.
bio - max wasn't one for making friends. she had no interest in socialising, and would often go days without speaking to anyone at all. she was detached from reality, often apathetic to what was going on around her. her mother would sleep more than she was awake, leaving max very lonely, and she often escaped into her dream world. she knew it wasn't reality, but it was her security blanket. in this fantasyland, she was the queen of an island of scary beasts; wild things. they understood her. they were there to help her. she accepted this.
she was twelve when she was referred to a psychiatrist after her english teacher noticed a dark theme to her writings. it was but a month later when she was sent off, her mother too overwhelmed and confused with the technical terms and diagnosis to know what else to do. max seemed, well, indifferent, hiding within herself and speaking to people as little as possible. but it was not people she wanted to avoid. it was emotions, both negative and positive. she liked her dreamland, and was afraid human interaction would make it go away.
