This is going to be very much TL;DR but I am sick to death of being scammed by these assholes.

They’re posting snippets of our conversations to try and make me look like an asshole when they (and btw, when I say they I mostly mean Chris/Blix) REPEATEDLY broke their old and new TOS, fucked me around for 15 months (my suit was half arsed in the space of a month) and repeatedly refused to refund even when they had not worked on my suit at all.

I have multiple screenshots of him blatantly lying to myself and others about me, including but not limited to how much I paid.

Because of all this, and because I have a suit that is all but unwearable, I will be doing everything I can to stop him from scamming another person.

Because this is what Christian Patterson and Erin Capps are doing: Scamming people.

I have also been coerced into keeping silent. Repeatedly, with threats of him not completing my suit and giving me virtually no money back.

So here’s my side of the story. And his, pretty much as it contains the screenshots of our entire conversation.

It’s been so long.

I’ve kept my mouth shut about this for MONTHS. And trust me, it has been hard.

But I have to tell people.

I can no longer sit here and watch other people get scammed the way I have been.

Chris Patterson/Blix Fox/Keurig Husky of Fuzzworks/Made By Blix is my suit maker. And here is the story of me coming to commission him.

We were friends and I had just managed to start saving after getting a new job. He mentioned that he made suits and that he’d love to do mine and I sent the initial payment on August 3rd (http://imgur.com/RyLRr1n,FXuP5Fk). I was not linked to his TOS or even made aware that he HAD a TOS. In fact, I’m not even sure he had a written out TOS when I initially commissioned him.

It should also be noted that, when I commissioned him, Erin Capps was in no way involved. I will get into that in more detail later.

Anyway, I made the payments and expected start on the head, hands, feet and tail while I got the DTD (Duct Tape Dummy) sorted as a way to measure the best fit for me. This took me awhile as I have no one I’m comfortable with making one with, and my partner was away. Anyway, the DTD got done and sent off in May 2015, and I received confirmation from him that he’d received it on the 10th of May, 2015 (http://imgur.com/0Ehn1iE). It was around about this time that Erin became his apprentice/public representative

I should have realised before this point that things weren’t getting done, but, as it was my first fursuit commission, I didn’t see the signs.

It was shortly after his confirmation of receiving the DTD that I realised something was amiss. His messages dropped to nothing, even friendly chit chat. And after three attempts to get his attention about measurements (over the space of months) (http://imgur.com/0Ehn1iE) I resorted to posting on his wall as I was getting NOTHING from him ( http://imgur.com/jBvjim5 ). After this, he responded quickly to my messages. Please note that, due to a car accident, my left thumb is a lot larger than my right, and most gloves that will fit my right hand DO NOT fit my left. Hence the comment about my “fucked up” hand.

This ensued, in which he made lots of excuses for his inactivity and eventually agreed to a deadline of December.

At around this same time, he took on a new commissioner by the name of “Kabier” on the 15th of July.

At first I thought little of this, though I was rather irritated that he was taking new commissioners despite not having given me any indication of where he was with my commission, only saying that it’s “in storage”.

I’ll add here that his TOS states in regards to Work-In-Progress pictures “we will send at minimum two photos per month”. Seen also in this screenshot is that I was NOT on his “master commission list” (http://imgur.com/F8fJ95s,J2BJZXW)

As of 31/08/15, I still have had NO photos of the WIP on my suit.

Anyway, on the 30th of August, I saw that he had a nearly finished WIP of Kabier’s head posted on his timeline (http://imgur.com/hOpEEKX,gAwd8ur) and I must admit, I lost my cool here as I still had absolutely ZERO WIP pictures and it had been dead on a month since I previously argued with Chris, meanwhile, someone who had paid little more than a month prior already had the foamwork of their head nearly completed

I messaged both him and Erin regarding wanting a refund (http://imgur.com/rmiRzty,kMWSGDS,uJ7SAJI,vdexkSL) and got nothing but excuses and being told that I would get very little of my money back and wouldn’t even get to keep what he has already done.

I eventually agreed to a deadline of December 1st, 2015 as I feel I have no other choice. It’s either lose nearly $2,000 or wait for my suit.

On top of this, I am also not on his “Master Commission List” despite having paid a year ago.

I have written this on the 31st of August, 2015. Further will be written as it occurs.

I did not post this to Artists Beware at this date as Chris has already threatened to sell what he’s made so far with a few edits and only give me the proceeds if I argue with him again. I have made an attempt to dispute my payments via paypal as of the 30th of Aug, but I am not covered by buyer protection as I have left it too long .

5 of September 2015. He found out I was going to the Better Business Bureau (to find out what my rights were regarding all of this) and, because of that, refused to finish my commission. He is Auctioning off the “40%” that he did here: https://www.furbuy.com/auctions/1076412.html and has told me that whatever he gets for that is all the refund I will receive. While we were arguing, he posted multiple lies about me including this one http://imgur.com/a/RpmEH which is proven to be a lie by this screenshot right here as well as my receipts saying that I paid $2000 for it.

After about a month of arguing, him blocking me and continue to spread the message that he was scamming me, he caved and said he would finish my suit. I gave my terms on this, and, while they may seem very strict and uncaring to some, I had to ensure that my ass was covered if he was to turn his back on this agreement… which I suspect he will do.

I think it pretty much speaks for itself. He tried to tell me how MY DESIGN was meant to be because he was lazy and fucked it up. He was consistently rude to me and once again broke our TOS when I simply asked for updates.

And keep in mind this is all before I got the suit.

And I paid $2000 in August, 2014

Now, since I’ve gotten the suit.

First I’ll tell you a little bit about it.

For starters, the head:

the ears are shaved in a way that makes like they were added as an afterthought. The poof of fluff that makes the hair is lopsided. The eyes are really hard to see out of. There is pretty much no room for my face, it’s really tight and I practically rip my own ears off trying to get the head off of me. There is a tiny slit for a mouth which has absolutely minimal ventilation and if you wear the head in a way that actually allows you to breathe easily, your eyes sit below the eyes of the head. It is REALLY HEAVY too. They got NO MEASUREMENTS for the head and refused them when I offered, stating that “one size fits all”. Subsequently, my head doesn’t fit me.

The body: To be honest I think it was made to fit him, not me. It is too tight pretty much everywhere EXCEPT my belly, which I would have forgiven as I’ve probably put on a bit of pudge around the middle in the TEN MONTHS since I made the DTD. They have not at all accounted for the DTD shrinking in the past 10 months and, as a consequence, the torso is too short and the shoulders are not wide enough.

They clearly thought that something was up with the DTD as they asked for arm measurements (and also thought it had shrunk, as they admit in screenshots I will display in a moment). It is not nearly big enough for me to zip up. Let alone bend down or wear a cooling vest like I explicitly requested.

Unwearable

The hands: They’re pretty good tbh.

But the left one doesn’t fit me.

I let them know again and again that I have a dodgey left thumb, meaning I would need two different sized handpaws. They ignored me and refused to get measurements.

So they’re unwearable.

The feet: Weigh probably more than the head… EACH. Somehow, despite him NOT GETTING THE MEASUREMENTS FOR MY FEET, they actually fit! Leading me to believe (again) that the suit was made to fit him and not me.

The tail: Is actually pretty decent. For some reason though, they’ve built it with ALUMINIUM inside???? it holds it’s shape pretty well and isn’t too heavy, but due to… rings (I really don’t know how else to explain this) of aluminium within the tail, it has a lumpy appearance.

I must admit, I lost my temper. A lot.

They also BLAME ME for the body not fitting. The only way they will fix it is if I pay postage. Which is against our TOS which he clearly agreed to stating HE will pay for shipping if anything doesn’t fit.

They did not at all account for shrinkage and everything that does not fit me is entirely their fault, though they refuse to be held accountable for it.

So here is the final messages between us.

And this isn’t even half of it. I’ve only caught SOME of the bullshit he’s been doing, mostly stuff that’s related to my case. Some other people are coming public about how he’s scammed and fucked them around, but there are at least half a dozen who are remaining silent to avoid his attacks and lies. I’ve been lucky enough to have taken screenshots of everything, meaning he can’t scream “well they have no evidence” which he and Erin are doing to people. But these people ALL have very similar experiences to me. They aren’t alone. He’s done it before He will do it again.

So, I haven’t been overly active on tumblr for a while, but I have been inspecting and working on my suit. So, I drove 500km to the nearest capital city (where a bunch of my furry friends live) and we altered my suit. 

With the edits I made, I was able to wear it to a meet at the foreshore. I had a lot of fun.

It looks pretty good as a ¾, right? Still not as good as having a full suit (like I paid for) but certainly a fucktonne better than having nothing. Anyway, in order to do this, I had to cut my suit virtually in half. Chris and Erin (makers) were of course very upset about the “mutilation” of their “beautifully made suit”. But they can get fucked. Anyway, in order to cut the suit right, we had to turn it inside out. Which was a nightmare in and of itself. But what we found inside.. I pretty much wanted to cry.

I think one of them nicked the leggings that have been sewn into the bottom half of the body and just gone “ah fuck it, she won’t notice!” so there’s a line of holes in one of the legs. I’m probably going to end up getting toes caught in these when I put it on and fuck the suit. This shouldn’t have happened and shouldn’t have passed as “good enough”/

In this image he’s stitched WAAAYYYYY too close to the edge of the fabric. This is the same for almost all of the markings and I am certain that he hasn’t left any seam allowance, which would also explain why the suit is too small for me. Where he’s stitched this close, there are already holes in the body suit because he’s missed the edge of the fabric completely.

See how it’s fairly bunched up in places? Well it’s also asymmetrical. The left hand side marking is showing more than the right.

This arm…. Well, not only have they added a good 2 inches of fabric on the end, but the seams don’t meet up where they’ve sewn it and also, look at how both sides of the arm aren’t symmetrical. Forgive me if I’m wrong, but shouldn’t the pattern you’re using to make a suit someone has paid $2000USD for be symmetrical???

This is how close they’ve stitched the zipper. It is near impossible to zip up without it catching on fur every five seconds. It’s also not a very good zipper, it jams on itself. If I were to get heat stroke in this, which is a possibility considering I live in Australia, I’d have to be cut out of this. It takes way too long to zip or unzip. And the zipper is on the back so there’s no way I could suit up alone.

I’d like to make note of the fact that this is not me. It’s my friend. She is thinner than I am but about the same height and she is the one in suit for all the cut photos I’ve posted further down on this thread.  This is relevant because people keep saying it’s me and it fits fine. As she has thinner shoulders, she can fit into the top better, even though it’s a little tight on her around the shoulders too.

So Chris got hella mad at this pic.  Kept going on about how “insane” I was.  “If this doesn’t show she’s insane, I don’t know what does. She has a photo of her suit sucking her dick.” Meanwhile he set fire to one of his suit heads. And more recently, poured milk all over his Preacher Wolf suit. And I’m crazy for this picture???

My friend in the suit again. She can finally lift her arms up in suit because before, you couldn’t as it would pull way too much. As evidenced by the large gap around the belly. She was so good. I was on the verge of a breakdown.  I’d just cut a $2000 suit in half, and seen all these flaws to it… I was really upset. But she started goofing off in my suit and it made things not so bad. I owe her so much for helping me alter the suit and for being a goof to make sure I didn’t start crying.

So she was running around in suit, and then suddenly goes “Cunt or slut?” And I was like “cunt?” so she wrote this on her belly. Basically “Hey Blix, you’re a cunt” I swear to god, don’t ever give this woman sugar!

The foam I pulled out of my head. Oh, and the pin.  This isn’t even half of the foam I needed to cut out in order to make the head not suffocate me and squish my face. But yeah, the pin. Who the fuck leaves pins in their suits that they’ve made for a customer??? It’s fucking horrible that he thinks THIS is an appropriate thing to give to a customer, and that he’ll badmouth other makers and say their work is shitty??? What a fucking joke.

Item Received: March 2nd, 2016

Pros: Talking with Erin was nice and the tail was done within a nice timeframe. It is also very high quality and gorgeous. (I seriously do love the craftsmanship, hence why this is all so awful)

Cons: Tail is a whole foot shorter than what I was quoted and working with Chris is just a huge headache.

TL DR:

I ordered a 3.5ft tail. Received 2.5ft tail. Was never told it was going to be adjusted so it wouldn’t touch the floor. Instead I was told that it had SHRUNK a whole foot from pattern to sewing. I was only told they changed it after I had filed a dispute despite waiting almost a whole month for a response. Then drama stuff with Blix.

Back in August I was scrolling through FB and found a post about open tail commissions. I was in the middle of having a head done for a new character so I figured I’d get a matching tail.

I posted on Erin Capps listing asking for a quote for a 3.5ft tail that resembled this one (including shape, this is what I’m referring to as the u-shape this whole time):

She quoted me $250 and I confirmed that she’d be able to do it (since she deleted her account, I can’t find the original post nor did I screenshot it).

Anyways, talk moved to pm:

Time passed and I decided I wanted to make this character’s tail myself. Instead of canceling I asked about swapping (as the project didn’t start yet nor did I fully pay it off):

Everything is moving along fine. Then I get new info from her new account Darby Deer. The tail looked great and correctly sized. I was happy. I legit couldn’t wait and was checking for packages daily.

Then the box arrived…. I saw it and knew something was off by it’s puny size. I opened it and measured the tail and it was a WHOLE foot less than what I requested and was quoted for. I mention this to Erin/Darby and got this:

Here is proof of it’s size. The white tail measures at 2 ft, the purple (one I bought is 2.5 ft), the gray tail is 3 ft, and the striped one is 3.5 ft (it is a perma attached tail but base for it starts at the top of the black stripe).

I waited almost a whole month for another reply but nothing. Absolutely Nothing. I started to stress and did some googling. This is when I found that she was part of Fuzzworks and that Fuzzworks has some very nasty reviews floating about. I decided to file a dispute so we could work this out. The window frame was rapidly running out of time to act. It was now or never. I asked a few makers for a quote on how much the current tail is work so I could get a partial refund and put a fair price down. I was initially going to give three options for Fuzzworks: 1. Total refund with return of tail, 2. Partial refund with no changes, 3. No refund with it being sent back for repairs and a strict deadline. After hearing all the drama I opted just to send a message for the second option and my distrust towards the company (I can’t find my copy of this and I’ve checked PayPal. If someone can tell me how to find it I will do so and post a screencap of that as well.)

Anyways, Chris messaged me and started this whole this here. This is when I started to get really upset. As you can see I was willing to work with having it fixed or just a smaller refund. Not once did he answer why I was never told that my tail had to change sizes and I asked several times. Towards the end you can see that I was waiting for updates from Chris again:

Fuzzworks argues that I’m refusing to work with them and that I was online and ignoring them. I was actually at the DMV at that time and can bring up a copy of my appointment to prove it. So no, I did not see anything he mentioned there that day nor until Monday (because my phone is incredibly stupid). I thought I was just waiting on a reply from him. PayPal also actually closed the case within minutes of Fuzzworks upping it to a claim. I wasn’t planning on actually bringing it to claim status. I was just sick of being ignored and running out of time. I would have closed it myself if they had only talked to me, like what Chris/Blix appeared to be doing. Once we had it worked out it would be over.

I’ve waited 24 hours now for Erin/Darby and about 12 hours since my last message to Chris before posting this. I’m just done. Drama is not my thing. I don’t want to deal with them anymore, I DEFINITELY don’t want to send it back if this is how I’m treated through messages. I’ll just cut my losses and let them keep the money and me keep the tail. However I will write up this and further reviews so people know what they are getting into. I left nothing out of the convos and only censored private info.

What: a pair of fursuit feet

When: First payment was September 30th, 2016 and I am still experiencing issues to this day.

Explanation: I ordered a pair of feet from Fuzzworks. Its been damn near impossible to get a hold of them. They also jam pack their schedule and do a lot of trades with others and constantly travel to cons. After poking Darby a few times I made a beware on Facebook, which turned into a storm of white knights and Darby asking me to remove the post. I did, hoping I would finally get some process on my feet and nothing.

I then asked Darby to make the feet for Furnal Equinox and then I can just pick them up there from her to make things easier on her part. I also ordered a Bandana from her, which she never shipped and I had to pick up from FE as well. I’m still currently waiting on a refund and it’s been over 2 weeks since she said she would refund me. Fuzzworks has a history of bad customer service and not giving their clients updates. People were telling me its normal to wait almost a year for products from them or no communication. Do not commission these people. They are constantly asking for trades too, which they don’t even have time to do with how stacked they are with commissions. They also made a post once they offered the refund that I “canceled” my slot.

This is 0% surprising, tbh. Blix has always been awful with customer service and I think it’s rubbing off on Darby.

I decided to provide the public with my final note on FA to Blix_Fox, the fursuit maker who decided to harass me and threaten me on Facebook after I issued a chargeback in order to get him to ship out my item in time. He has called me all manner of uncouth names, including a thief and a robber and this link pretty much proves I’m not.

I basically TOLD him how to win the case in Paypal against me by providing tracking information that he’d given me thru UPS. Common knowledge is, you provide that and there is proof the package arrived, Paypal will side with the seller almost every single time. I’ve done this myself once or twice. Just a note that as of today he STILL hasn’t provided any sort of tracking information or responded in any way to the chargeback. He gave me that information shortly after I notified him of the chargeback so he has it, not sure why he’s not providing it. Got something to hide? My next step will be to publicly post our entire FB convo from date of my accepting his friend request in April to now.

Don’t dig your hole any deeper, Blix. Just admit you were wrong and I did nothing to incite all this violence and harassment. You’re nothing but a cyberbully who’s upset someone actually decided to stand up to you and knows more about something than you do.

I APOLOGIZED in that note. I COMPLIMENTED his suiting skills in my original AB post. Does that in any way shape or form sound like the actions of a hardened criminal, bent on cheating you out of money? The foam bases were WORTH what I paid for and made well. Outside of my agreed deadline, but still. I WANT you to get that money back so you can leave me the hell alone just as badly as you probably do. (Minus a 50$ compensatory fee for the late delivery that I mentioned in our FB convo)

He’s clearly some sort of unhinged and I now have to fear for my safety at Anthrocon because of him.

Total refund with return of tail, 2. Partial refund with no changes, 3. No refund with it being sent back for repairs and a strict deadline. After hearing all the drama I opted just to send a message for the second option and my distrust towards the company (I can’t find my copy of this and I’ve checked PayPal. If someone can tell me how to find it I will do so and post a screencap of that as well.)

Anyways, Chris messaged me and started this whole this here. This is when I started to get really upset. As you can see I was willing to work with having it fixed or just a smaller refund. Not once did he answer why I was never told that my tail had to change sizes and I asked several times. Towards the end you can see that I was waiting for updates from Chris again:

Fuzzworks argues that I’m refusing to work with them and that I was online and ignoring them. I was actually at the DMV at that time and can bring up a copy of my appointment to prove it. So no, I did not see anything he mentioned there that day nor until Monday (because my phone is incredibly stupid). I thought I was just waiting on a reply from him. PayPal also actually closed the case within minutes of Fuzzworks upping it to a claim. I wasn’t planning on actually bringing it to claim status. I was just sick of being ignored and running out of time. I would have closed it myself if they had only talked to me, like what Chris/Blix appeared to be doing. Once we had it worked out it would be over.

I’ve waited 24 hours now for Erin/Darby and about 12 hours since my last message to Chris before posting this. I’m just done. Drama is not my thing. I don’t want to deal with them anymore, I DEFINITELY don’t want to send it back if this is how I’m treated through messages. I’ll just cut my losses and let them keep the money and me keep the tail. However I will write up this and further reviews so people know what they are getting into. I left nothing out of the convos and only censored private info.
