i have a very controversial opinion that will get me killed with rocks and sticks by the brand of drivers who hate cyclists but as someone who does both: if i'm biking down a narrow hill with no safe way to ride on the side of the road, but the speed limit is 25 mph (~20 km/h) and i'm currently going 32 (~51), cars behind me don't need to honk at me and dangerously tailgate me trying to pass anymore than they would if i were in a car. i'm going above the speed limit. let me get to the bottom where the road widens and i'll let you pass!!!!!!!

another recurring problem at Johnson County Jail is that, not only are Meagan Morris and Autumn Hill being held in the men's prison - they are being strip searched by male guards daily. Meagan just told me she got strip searched. They're not allowed out of their cells anyway, so this is just deliberate sexual abuse by Johnson County Jail.

ID / TL;DW: young Black man explains the history of voodoo dolls: they originated in England, where Black people where prohibited from learning to read or write, to help witches keep track of what ailed their patients. Eg., person goes to witch and laments headache, they treat their headache and make a small doll (called "poppet"), trying to represent them as good as possible, stick a needle in its head and put it up a shelf. When they return next week, the witch takes their poppet and asks about their headache. If it's gone, they remove the needle, otherwise they know they have to treat a rather persistent headache.

I will only say that as a trans woman formerly living in Hampton, Virginia it was a necessary evil if I wasn't boymoding. Now that I live in Chicago it's optional and don't live in fear for my life as being visibly trans because for once in my life my survival is no longer forcefully tied to conformity.

Oh dang. We are in the process of working on some future projects and while a lot of our stuff is cut so that it fits a lot of body types by default, this is gonna be helpful as hell. My wife almost always complains that the shoulders are too tight on the sample dresses we get.
