I’m mostly asking just out of curiosity but is it ever to late to start ballet with plans of doing it professionally? Sorry if this has been asked before.
Professional ballet is a fiercely competitive career! I would say...it’s unusual for people to become professionals if they have not begun in earnest by 13-15.

i was wondering what your thoughts are on dancing alone. i’ve been on pointe about a year and am taking all the classes available to me in my small town, but only get about 2-3 hours of ballet per week. i have a key to the dance studio and often come in on weekends to work, but i’m not sure if i’m just ingraining my mistakes. any advice would be appreciated!
Well, I guess would say that 2-3hrs a week is on the low side for maintaining & improving technique. I would suggest this: speak with your teacher(s) about getting enough practice & inquire on what/how/if you can work on technique alone. I would imagine working on basic technique in soft shoes could help you IF you are conscientious enough to self-correct. Luck!
I wish to do ballet but I feel like I am too chubby to do it. I did ballet when I was younger, but stopped and gained weight. Do you think I should try?
BALLET IS FOR EVERYONE!
Hello. I’ve been wanting to learn ballet for some time, and I’ve finally started learning it (self taught). I was wondering when I should start practicing with pointe shoes? I already have the basics mastered.
I do not recommend beginning pointework without the guidance of a quality instructor! See if you can find a local studio to support your training. Luck!

Can I practice ballet with guys if I am a pre-T trans man? I really want to but this is making me anxious
I am so sorry you even have to think about this but I really hope so. I wish I could speak for all but: if you want to take Men’s, please take Men’s.
