How to Fix Arendelle in KH3

The six main Frozen characters are here to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Disney’s 53rd animated feature!

Note: I have only seen the movie, not any tie-in material. Some of these will be obvious to answer.

Why did Runeard bring Agnarr along that day if he planned on attacking the tribe? Wouldn't it have made more sense to leave him in the castle? Or did Runeard want to accomplish his goal so badly that he was willing to have his son become hurt/possibly die to accomplish his goal?

Did Matthias know about the attack? Or was he (most likely) just being a good man and protecting Agnarr as he was told? Did any of the soldiers, aside from the one Runeard spoke with, know of the attack on the tribe? Matthias and his band of soldiers didn't seem to know, as they only seemingly only reacted when the Northuldran's attacked them in response to Runeard's actions.

Where did Iduna stay after she saved Agnarr? She obviously made it out, but couldn't go back in, so did she stay somewhere in the village?

How did Agnarr react to Iduna telling him about her past before the raging water took their lives? Was he angry? Was he somehow relieved when he saw Iduna relaxing when she no longer had to hide that part of herself? Did he feel like she had been keeping a secret from him?

What happened to Agnarr's mother? Did she die in childbirth? Some time before the events of the movie?

What was Iduna’s family to the Northuldran tribe? They were one of the oldest family’s, as said by Honeymaren, so did that make them royalty in a sense?

I’ll try to answer the ones I can in order for you.

#1 and #2 Runeard was an arrogant man who thought he wouldn’t lose. He planned to kill the chief in secret and not get caught, when the battle broke out the soldiers did what they are sworn to do - they protected Arendelle -- Mattias was as caught off guard as everyone else. Runeard didn’t think about Agnarr at all tbqh. We’ll add negligence to the list of terrible things he has done. Either he just didn’t think he would be caught/thought they would be gone before war started or he brought Agnarr to make the whole situation seem more legit and intentionally put his son in danger.

#3 and #4 We don’t know what happened to Iduna after she saved Agnarr or at what point they began their romance. I think the memory of them at the tree was after the war. Agnarr never actually met her in the forest so up until she said she needed to tell him the truth about her past he didn’t know who she was. This likely happened after Elsa was born with magic. Kind of hard to explain without telling him who she is. We don’t know how he reacted ---but we do know after her confession she showed him a secret room in the castle where she had been keeping books on magic and other magic-related items. It’s a major plot point in Forest of Shadows. We also know Agnarr spent a lot of time in there with her researching Ahtohallen and planning to go there to seek answers to help Elsa.

#5 We don’t know what happened to Agnarr’s mother. She likely passed away during childbirth or when he was very small because he tells the girls he came back home King of Arendelle after the events in the enchanted forest.

I’ve been shippin’ these two for years. Ardra’s first big diplomatic mission is to go to Arendelle and discuss trade relations with the queen–something she thinks is gonna be the most boring thing. But it turns out to be anything but and she falls head over heels!
