It's hard to believe I have 6 months left of my masters program with 600 more hours ahead of me to complete my internship and become an APCC and can begin working towards full licensure. These past 5 months have been some of the most surreal moments of my life. I think one thing that really hits hard is all the little things that have added up into my life right now. I used to be the kid everyone bullied, very few friends and the 'weird' kid. I've now become the person every kid is dying to come see. I step onto a school campus, and I have kids excited to come to my office and talk to me. Kids asking to be pulled for check-ins and kids that don't want to see other providers but instead want to see only me. It's such a rewarding feeling. This past week has been such an amazing week in some ways. One of my favorite events from this week was the amount of handmade cards my clients gave me for my birthday just expressing how thankful and happy they were to have me as their therapist and how excited they get everytime they get to see me and the impact I've made on their lives. I absolutely love every second of what I do. I may be overly tired right now with my schedule, but I absolutely love what I'm doing. Though these 64 hour weeks are rough and I can't wait to have a normal schedule where I'm not balancing a full-time job and an internship site job as well. But, the positive? Between both sites, I've got the most amazing 24 clients, and I'm reminded every day why I do what I do. Not everyone can say they love their job, but I can with 1000% certainty say I love what I do. It may be tough at times, but I lay my head down every night, excited to begin a new day. I know these next 6 months will be exhausting, but I intend to work so hard to reach the end and finally reach where I want to be. I'll work everyday to be the best version of myself that I can be, not just for me, but also for all those who need a helping hand and someone to just hold the weight for a little but for them.
