Queen Of The Rooks

I grieve all my losses, all my mistakes, and all those versions of myself I have lost to become the broken, shattered form of the being I am today.

However, no matter how shattered I am, I will rise, resiliently, passionately, and be reborn into a new me, over and over again.

I wonder if the universe ever grieves the stars that blink out of existence, or the planets that shatter into a billion tiny pieces. Yet, I also hope it celebrates every new celestial body that is born, a new star that lights up a tiny part of the vast, dark sky.

I am rage. I am grief. I am despair. I am misery. I am anger. I am loss. I am sadness. I am hurt. I am pain. I am someone who was wronged a thousand times over, yet is still standing here today. I am someone who was hurt a million times over, yet stands here to survive all the scars. I hope you see me now, past self, and beam in pride at where you have traveled, and what you have become. I hope you see me now future self, and although acknowledge the anger you felt at being denied the things you wanted, the goals you wanted to achieve, and the place you wanted to be, but also muse at how much you’ve grown, and how strong you’ve become to overcome the grief, anger, rage, pain, misery, and unfairness that you were dealt. I hope you also beam in pride at how you’ve become someone who lives for themselves, for their own dreams, goals, passions, love, and happiness. It’s painful, but you are strong. The challenge is great, the grief is real, but you are resilient. You are a star, in the night sky, a light that shines through the darkness. And the universe will celebrate your every birth, and be there to comfort you at your every death.
