I think Internet language is interesting in that, historically, new features in language tended to develop in spoken language and then (sometimes much) later appear in written language, and with the internet it seems to be different. We’re developing features here in our written communications that later begin to be used in speech. I think the usage might be a bit of a register thing in that we might say this with friends but not in any other context, but still, it’s making its way to our normal, spoken language, and I think that’s really cool.
