Everyone's always very keen to forget that Shinigami Eyes wasn't actually developed to mark transphobes in general but to help aid the online safety of trans women specifically, and shockingly enough yeah you're more likely to get marked red if you explicitly refuse to oppose the trans cohort of Men's Rights Activists.

However, when the project started, it was explicitly and specifically for ALL trans people of ALL gender assignments and gender identities.

Like. I know that person is right about the use case of the extension now, but they are straight up lying about history here. And really recent history. History most of tumblr's user base lived through on tumblr.

I’m not going to use this as a huge chance to talk about European racism, (a huge issue to me as an ex european now living in the USA and on the internet where people pretend Europe isn’t just as and often more racist than the USA)

but I do want to take this chance to remind everyone to pay attention to your countries, fight back in your country. If you live in Europe, especially scandinavia or denmark, you need to focus on your government, because while you’re on tumblr shitting on the USA, this is what YOUR leaders are doing.

Summer sees both a drop off in donations and, at least for our trauma center, a spike in traumas. Trauma centers across the US are in danger of running out of blood for our trauma patients TODAY, which is very scary but, unlike much of the other scary national news coming across our screens these days, is something you can help fix immediately and directly.

Many things that previously made people ineligible have been rolled back. If you previously thought you were ineligible, please consider checking current guidelines!

While O- is the most dire need as it can be safely given to anyone in an emergency, all types are needed! Our emergent release blood is being pulled for patients who have a high chance of death if they don't get blood within the hour. Once they're stabilized, they can have their type confirmed and get blood of a specific, matching type released to them so that O- can go to the patients who need it most.

You can now donate blood as a man who has sex with men. There is no longer any specific focus on gender identity or sexuality, the screening questions are now based on sexual activity and have been changed to allow many more men who have sex with men to donate.

Gender and sex assignment at birth are irrelevant to your eligibility except that there are different weight minimums and iron levels for different genders, if you're generally healthy and not fainting frequently you're probably good to go. Meaning trans and intersex people are eligible to donate blood (unless disqualified by sexual activity criteria).

You cannot donate blood if you have had anal sex with a new partner in the last three months OR if you have had anal sex with more than one partner (even in a long term polycule type of situation) in the last three months. If you have only had anal sex with one partner for the last three months, you are eligible to donate blood.
