« Roger's Fruitcake;

We have a saying in Italian, Chi non muore si rivede (literally it means “those who don’t die will see each other again” –  a bit grim, i know), and it was the first thing that came to my mind when i decided to write this post. ‘Cos no, i’m not dead (yet), i’ve just been too busy trying to participate irl. 🦋

It’s been months since my last post, but i’m not writing (only) to say sorry or to announce that i’ll be back soon, i just wanted to say hi to all the lovely and adorable people i met here this year and to wish them all the best for 2O2O. 🎐

And, most of all, i wanted to thank them. I spent half of 2O19 on tumblr fangirling over the BoRhap cast (oh, we did have fun during the Award season, didn’t we?), sharing countless pictures and more of Roger and getting to know lots of amazing girls in the Queen fandom who made me feel welcomed and loved, like i belonged somewhere. Those months were special, so thank you, from the bottom of my heart. 💖

However, i realized the more time i spent online, the more i pulled away from my real life, and that wasn’t right. So i decided to take a break, which at first was tough, but in time it became bearable and then perfectly normal. (Looks like i still have to learn how to properly use social media without getting fully absorbed.)

In the meantime, i finally managed to be happy and self-fullfilled irl, since now i’ve got a wonderful boyfriend who not only bears with my obsession with Roger, but – u n b e l i e v a b l e – actually encourages it by buying me THE TAYLORED T-SHIRT and by taking me to THE QUEEN CONCERT IN BOLOGNA NEXT MAY 🎉 Needless to say, i’m the luckiest girl in the world ✨ 

Oh, and i also got a full-time job as an English teacher in a middle school (it’s a hard life but i kinda love it), i started going to the gym, i rode a roller coaster for the first time in my life and Roger Meddows Taylor received the OBE! Jeez, these are the accomplishments we should be grateful for 💐

And if i’m grateful for my 2O19, it’s also thanks to you @discoastrophysicist @natromanxoff @x5vale @annie-appreciation @godknowsimtaylored @melisa-may-taylor72 @mephisto92 @drummerqueenrmt, you all truly are rare gems and you deserve a new year full of joy and only good things. 💎🎆

I am happy for all the progressions that you had in your life, I truly am. I mean, YOU’RE GOING TO SEE THEM!!! I mean, I know I will be dead without seeing them but I am honestly getting so happy to hear that my friends are going to see them, I feel very joyful for you people. I AM SO EXCITED NOW!!

Your boyfriend.. I mean, I remember I told that he was a lucky guy that he has you and now I am glad that he behaves like that, you deserve this and all!!

ROGER HAD AN OBE, YES!! I am very pleased that we have you now to congratulate it.

Other than that, I am so happy to hear from you. I mean, at some point I had even terrible thoughts, I was so worried. And now seeing this, you made me so happy. You probably understood that because I keep saying the word ‘happy’ hahahaha

I’ve missed you too and i’m so so sorry you got worried 😢💔 it was selfish of me to disappear like that, now i realize it. please, accept my apologies together with an emotional supportive Roger (feel free to think you’re the girl in the pic)

Oh yes i am 👩‍🏫 but actually more than sharing my wisdom i’m trying to surive lol holy moly those kiddos drain all my energies XD but sometimes the efforts are worth it 😍

How his voice is still like this at 70 years old? Another reason to love him and to wish him many more concerts and many more birthdays on your.

You know what I really, really love about him, besides the things I've already stated in other posts today? I love how he pursued his dream. An Italian Italian writer in 1783 wrote this sentence:

"volli, bolli, fortissimamente volli" which basically means that when you really want something (the story is that he asked to his servant to tie him up to a chair because he was in love with a woman and he couldn't stay still and write), you work for it.

Roger worked hard. Very hard. He put all himself into it, but his brilliant mind was aware that the career he was hoping for could be a dead end, and he took a degree, leaving a door open for some other chances. He never gave up. He kept trying, while he was woking at the stall and studying. I have an enormous amount of admiration for all the people who are moved by such a passion. Makes them a source of inspiration.

So I'm utterly happy that he got what he wanted. He deserves all of it.
