something about obsession that i just cant stop thinking about is how when the music store friend group starts to notice nikki acting weird and suddenly dating bear, they dont seem to be that concerned about nikki's wellbeing? like sure they notice she's acting weird and clingy, but both ian and sarah put the blame on her for this codependent relationship.

ian invites BEAR out for his boys night (which literally isnt a boys night) and tells him to leave nikki at home. if nikki is acting out of character super suddenly (clingy, obsessed with bear, apparently using drugs again, lying about her dad), i would be more worried about her?? but no, bear is the one that gets the invite as long as he doesn't bring nikki because shes acting weird. why is bear seen as the victim by both ian and sarah? even from the outside it seems like nikki is in a vulnerable state for some unknown reason and bear is taking advantage of that.

I would love to make a list of recs!! i've seen so many. my personal favorites are:

Noroi: The Curse (2005) - Japanese mockumentary (i count it as found footage personally) about a paranormal investigator looking into a demonic entity. i didn't personally find it super scary but there are a lot of cool moments and interesting plotlines

[REC] (2007) - Spanish found footage about a news reporter doing a story about firefighters. thats all i wanna say about it

Ghostwatch (1992) - Mock BBC broadcast about a haunted house. i found this pretty creepy, its especially good if you like seeing creepy things happen in the background of shots

Saiko!! The Large Family (2009) - This is on youtube! It kinda requires you to pay close attention for it to be scary but i love that type of thing so im putting it on here

Lake Mungo (2008) - Mockumentary following a family after the loss of their daughter. very good supernatural and existential horror with a lot of elements of grief

Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi (2012) - So this is actually a Japanese series of movies following a team who investigates various urban legends. they should all be on youtube for free and theyre really interesting!!
