One day I’ll learn to throw chairs at people instead of trying to people please my way out of conversations and situations that make my nervous system scream.

I, unfortunately, cannot forgive and forget. I can forgive. I cannot forget.

I do think it's a little evil to talk shit about someone the day after, or even the hour after, they spent hours of their time selflessly trying to help you. I understand that sometimes the help we receive isn't always what we asked for. Sometimes people's words and actions don't comfort you. They aren't exactly what you need in the moment, and that can be frustrating. Sometimes the hand you're offered isn't the one you wanted. But I do think it's odd to drag someone's name through the mud after they genuinely tried to show up for you because they care about you, instead of leaving you to spiral alone. I think it's especially odd that, instead of being grateful that someone tried to be there for you and help you, you're going to turn around and say, "they were just trying to pacify me," while spreading harmful misinformation about them. It's one thing to be annoyed with someone for telling you that "everything is going to be okay" because you find it invalidating. It's another thing entirely to tell blatant lies about them and run a smear campaign against them. I don't think anyone is obligated to like the help they receive. You're allowed to feel frustrated, disappointed, or even upset that someone didn't say exactly what you needed to hear. But when someone spends hours of their time trying to help you out of genuine care and concern, only for you to turn around and attack their character and rewrite their intentions, I find that a little evil.
