Beginning Mandarin grammar
both mandarin and English are subject-verb-object sentence structure.
他是中国人 (tā shí zhōng guó rén) he is chinese.
there is no verb conjugation in Mandarin. 是 will always be 是 no matter who the subject is.
there are no plurals. Chinese nouns can refer to both a single something or multiple of something. 书 (shū) can mean both “a book” or “books”
