There's nodding on her part. "I didn't even realise he was the same guy when he was cast on The Boys," she admits, crooked grin on her face. She flutters her eyes, and with a mock serious look on her face, parrots a statement she's heard from the other side more than once. "All white boys look the same, you know?"

That and, well, she pays more attention to the non-white actors. Always has, just because it's rare to see one in a lead role that looks anything like her. Doesn't mean she keeps up with which Bollywood and Kollywood actors are also nepo babies. The only reason she knew about Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor was because their first movies were pretty much advertised using that fact.

"The music slaps though." There's a shrug and another grin. "I'll admit I enjoy the lack of over the top soap opera drama most Indian shows have in it, and the very pretty cast, but it's a lot of froth and little substance."

Darshini's bouncing a little bit again and shaking her head. The strap of her bag is twisted in her hand. "It's not just a good idea," she insists. "It's a great one, we should make a video where you pitch it." Already she can picture it. The credit is all Kie's, of course, Darshini's just there to make sure her vision reaches an audience, and who knows! Maybe it'll get picked up!

She could only spot the difference with the blond love interest from The Summer I Turned Pretty and that was because that dude had curls.

And much like Darshini, she, too, pays more attention to non-white actors. Always has, always would. "Mhm. Yeah, I get that."

It's a great one, Darshini says, and just like that, Kie is sold.

It was frustrating. She could admit that. What a useless power, she sometimes thought. Seeing the past could be helpful, she knew that logically, but when it came to her other dreams, Faye would prefer the insomnia-fuelled nights of trying new recipes. At least those nights were productive.

"Could be. The flood part also reminds me of crying, now that you mention it."

"Honestly, I also think it's got something to do with the amount of pressure we put on ourselves. And also the amount of pressure that our community puts on our shoulders sometimes. Like, there's this book I read about this lady who traveled from India to Suriname in search of her roots. And a lot of elders hit her with the lo kya kahenge when she asked questions because they were very much like what will other people say? and little pots have big ears and you're supposed to shut up. I think it's the same with us, in the sense that we're sort of primed to go into the field. I wanted to, as well, before. You know, to give kids the representation that I never had. But then I realized that I could do a lot more if I focused on my sports and my art. And I think that you could do a lot more good if you focus on what brings you joy, rather than focusing on what's expected of you."

     "there has to be something you can wear," rey murmurs, mind already racing as she tries to think through their options. with access to both SCIENCE and MAGIC, rey would think a solution must be possible, though kie has likely already taken this train of thought before. "although that's a pretty solid group you've mentioned. what more do you need?" now her voice is playful as she teases her.

rey knows thor will be delighted by the question. she can picture already how PROUD he'll be to be the person khione has entrusted with the task, to say nothing of how much fun he'll have training with her. "trust me, he'll want to make the time for it," she assures. "he'll be honored you've asked."

"i'm down for whatever so long as it's comfy and cute." you gotta look the part, after all. and as aunt rey teases her, kie laughs. "yeah, well, i'd like to add layla, magenta, zach and ethan to that list. oh, and farzana and jawaharel. and then i'm done."

while rose was talking, answering khione's question about what kind of powers she had, violet herself was wondering if there were any holes in her story. maybe it was likely that she did get lost from her team, but wouldn't they have been looking for her? rose couldn't be a distraction for the two girls?

thoughts come to a halt when she feels khione's gaze on her, a silent exchange that left the final decision all on her. of sorts. a small nod of her own follows, as if she was letting rose's words settle before relenting. it was still too soon to judge, but she couldn't see herself fully trust rose.

at least, not for the exercise.

still beaming, rose thanks violet and all but skips forward. kie merely nods as they set out - now a group of three - kie couldn't help but wonder where rose's own team was.

had it been her, she would have done any and everything to find her teammates, and if someone on her team had been lost, she would have done everything to find them.
