If we go with the theory that the Red-Eyed God mutates people into a physical manifestation of their "over-generalized" core values with the addition of blood traits, we can figure out how to reverse-engineer the creation of blood monsters in writing.

I mean, the God broke Simon down into some very basic traits. I can turn this into a formula:

[Blood] + [Circumstantial Physical Trait] + [Motive] = Monster

Simon's would be: [Blood] + [Tree Seed] + [Death] = The Bleeding Maple / Fleshy Blood Tree

The Eel's would be: [Blood] + [Multiple Individuals] + [Hunger] = Hivemind Predator

So, if *I* were to look at myself from the perspective of a pinhole (like the God does), what would I find? I'm doing my own psyche eval for you guys as an example on how to make a character in the ocean.

[Blood] + [Ehlers Danlos Syndrome] + [Obsession/Passion] = Flexible, holds on tightly to things... "jellyfish" with lots of hands?

Yeah! That's my blood monster! It would wrap itself around the submersible and not let go until the pilot suffocates to death, unless someone was able to literally cut them off of it. Oof.
