Paige face beamed with excitement when she mentioned she wanted to do a barre routine. “Absolutely! I still do them at least twice a week. I just like how it stretches the muscles and keeps me lean. Yes! I would love someone to dance with.” She gave a few claps with excitement. “I was actually planning to do one tomorrow afternoon. Will that work for you,” she asked while checking out her journal of ideas.

“Tomorrow afternoon would be perfect!” Naomi replied, smiling happily at that. “I’m so out of shape. It’s really bad,” she said with a soft laugh.”Thank you,” she smiled.

Though she had once been constantly moving, Naomi had noticed since coming to the circus that she’d fallen out of her previous habits. While tent life didn’t lend itself to everything she’d been used to doing, there were some other options that she could try. She just needed a little help with it…

Backstage was the easiest place to catch people sometimes, and thus Naomi had positioned herself there, waiting for Paige to arrive before the performance that evening. Spotting the younger woman shortly before the show was to start, Naomi went over to speak with her. “Ahh, hello,” she smiled softly. “Do you mind if I ask you for some help? Not right now, but perhaps soon?”

Paige was in her own little world that was located in front of her vanity mirror trying to get ready for the show. With her earbuds in here ears, she was listening to some music and having a good ol’ time. At one point, she was holding up her hair brush as a microphone, mouthing the words to her favorite song at the moment. It took her a moment to realize that someone was trying to get her attention, but she noticed Naomi’s face in the mirror.

“OH! I’m sorry,” she said taking the buds out of her ear, “Don’t mind me.” She was glad she was able to hear the last part of her question. “Of course, I’ll help you out. Anything for you.” She reached for her headband to pull her hair back before she started to work on her makeup. “Do you want to meet after my set? I just need to shower and change, and that’s about it.”

Naomi smiled once Paige noticed her, and shook her head after. “It doesn’t actually need to be tonight. An afternoon would probably be better, anyway.” She watched for a moment as Paige started to work on her makeup. “You’re a classically trained dancer, right? I was trying to remember some of the barre routines I used to do, but I haven’t taken a class since I was 19. I was hoping you might help me out with that a time or two?” she asked.
